Gutted if this is the case but totally understood. Health comes before sport.

It's the logical thing to do. The world has never (I think) experienced such a global issue as coronavirus. It has spread crosses boundaries, without worrying about race, religion, wealth etc.

To continue with a football tournament across a large number of European cities would be an extremely daft thing to do.

It’s an easy event to postpone. International football is effectively glorified friendly games. You want your country to do well, but it doesn’t break your heart the same way as domestic football when they don’t.

Trying to conclude the domestic seasons in a satisfactory manner should be the priority, and if the Euros need to be abandoned then it’s not really a huge loss.

Can they now have the tournament in one country as they aren’t celebrating a landmark amount of years?

To be honest, I heard the term, but wasn't aware of how much impact it caused around the world. You're right, Coronavirus not as severe as Spanish Flu in terms of deaths.

Not even close, to put things in perspective Spanish flu 1919/21 killed more people than both World Wars and the Russian revolution put together.

They should have just cancelled it altogether. Aside from the fact it will now fall in the midst of World Cup qualifiers, is it really something we can't live without?

There won't be a restaging of this year's other landmark events like the Masters, Grand National etc, while I suspect Wimbledon, the Open and the Olympics will be called off in the not too distant future.

According to the Polish FA (see BBC Football website) the international friendly matches and Euro 2020 play off matches scheduled for this month will be played in June 2020. If so that may impact on plans to finish the domestic season as players will have to be released?

Has a date in June been set for the game against Israel?

Although June may be a little early for that.......

Bigger than the Olympics? No chance. The World Cup is big, but the Euros is a sideshow in comparison. I couldn't even tell you off the top of my head who won the last tournament.

Na, probably not bigger than the Olympics but utterly dwarfs all the others mentioned. Fantastic tournament, never disappoints.

You being ignorant to who won it doesn't really mean anything. It was Portugal btw.

The June international break is during the first week in June.

No danger the matches will take place then.
