    Their 3rd goal

    Was Their 3rd goal offside?
Plenty shouts in the West stand for it - and the linesman on that side was appalling
Or was out defence slow in stepping out?

    No. Hanlon played him on.

    Definitely on side.

Hanlon played him on and mistimed his step out when trying to catch him offside.

Onside. Hanlon played him on in the middle.

    Hanlon's fault, unsurprisingly.

Looked offside to me, the linesman was about 5 yards behind play so he couldn’t call it. Need to see it again.

Hanlon played him on but claimed really hard for offside so you can’t fault his effort.

Hanlon was hailing taxis all night with no joy.

Played the boy in then got skinned by him again.

    Absolutely f***ing hopeless.

    Onside.

I thought Rocky's positioning was dodgy though.

At least a yard onside. Looked it in real time and confirmed in replays since.

As everyone says he was onside but was there a handball in their box in the build up? My stream wasnt great as the ball went in the box but it looked like the defender played the ball off his hand or did i just imagine it?

Absolutely no handball. Washington looked offside in real time but was definitely onside. Hanlon’s fault, tried to claim for it too and feel if he didn’t then he would’ve had a better chance of getting back.

Not offside but I'm not sure we can blame Hanlon and I'm a big critique.

Hanlon should be dropped after that performance tonight. I’ve never seen such incompetence from a player.
    Beyond embarrassing.

Hanlon morphed into Hands Up Caldwell, playing him onside in acres of space and unable to catch him flung up a hand in a desperate attempt to convince the linesman to flag.

An offside trap that could've come with the Benny Hill tune as a soundtrack. A yard onside.

Hanlon stepped up too late trying to play him offside, then failed to stop the shot.

    Poor defending

Hanlon was too slow to step up (so he played him onside) then Hanlon was too ineffectual in dealing with the problem when in our box - I think we can safely blame Hanlon for that one ...

What was Jackson doing. He may have reacted to a shout from Hanlon but we have a player marking and a player covering when the pass is played and neither get near the scorer at any point.

Was their third the one that resulted from us (Jackson I think) trying to play a free kick far too quickly and giving possession away. Or was that the second?

You've not watched Hibs for very long I'm guessing? Or football for that matter.

Omeonga was worse than Hanlon last night. So how does that work?

Hanlon in the middle trying to play offside with the pause and the hand up wasn't ideal BUT think where the play was, safe down the left wing, Washington with zero support and we've eventually got 2 covering him - THERE'S NO DANGER AT THIS POINT, we then proceed to let him cut in, get in a decent position THEN allow him to get his shot away, that's the part that's brutal for me.

We done that so many times last night. From goalkeeper straight through the team. This obsession with doing things quickly is a peeve of mine. Absolutely do it if it's on but it's better to do the right thing than the quick thing.

Clearly you’re right but I did sympathise a bit with Jackson there. I think he was just trying to up the tempo and get us moving. Something which the midfield and the likes of Hanlon and Stevenson simply didn’t appear interested in.

It was a bad idea ultimately but I think the sentiment was right. We lacked urgency and picked the wrong passes when we did find space
