Stewart's Bar, opposite was Rutherford's. There should be a law against changing the name of pubs.

I think it's called La Hispaniola. Named after the ship in Treasure Island, as Robert Louis Stevenson was a regular at Rutherford's.

An original Kushi's no nonsense mutton curry and a pint from Stewart's brings back fond memories.

And no automatic doors opening for you as you left the pub with your precious pints. Through those swing doors that had a life of their own

Cheers. I wasn’t sure if it was getting done up or what as every time I go by it there’s not much sign of any activity.

I used to stay on Easter Road in the 90s. My front door was opposite the Four in Hand and my living room window looked on to the Nip. Some entertaining scenes late night on weekends shall we say 😀

The best bit about the Ferry Boat was the signage on the side of the building which read "International Cabaret".
Always had a laugh at that and imagined that Kung Fu between the patrons was as near as they got to it.

Yeah I used to live at that end of Albert St and between the Nip and the Clan Tavern the weekends where lively to say the least.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, vodka in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, "WOO HOO what a ride!"

Almost correct. Boy who operates that and the one up town initials are MP and a total fud. Hates football and was the only pub on Leith Walk who refused to open on Cup final night. He's a fanny. Also has the licence for The strathie which he sublets to a sound South African fella.

they're all owned by the same guy, along with Robbies, Persevere, Artisan and many more.
