They're in the Lowland League, they only got set up a few years ago.

I actually thought they were a University team when I saw the BSC in their name. Never realised until today that it actually stands for Broomhill Sports Club!
I thought it was British Steel Corporation. It puzzled me where BSC had a plant in Glasgow.

Ta. Wonder how 2,200 would’ve worked v Hibs or Hearts or any of the bigger clubs?
We’d have got 400. That’s what Clyde got yesterday and sold them all, the remainder of the crowd was Bonnyrigg.

Could be wrong but I think the actual capacity is about another 600. Terrible view for a lot of folk right enough.

New Dundas Park did not have floodlights until last summer. The requirement shifted during the lowland league status application which resulted in their new league status only being approved on appeal.

As for our tie back in 2017, they had no floodlights and were a junior team at the time so the ground was unsuitable.
tHIS IS TOTAL BS , YOU DONT NEED FLOODLIGHTS TO ENTER THE SCOTTISH CUP

You do to be licensed by the SFA. Now that they are licensed, they can’t just move games about to suit themselves.

The same round that we played Bonnyrigg, Albion Rovers who were in League One at the time were allowed to switch stadiums for their home game against Celtic.

Lets beat Utd first then worry about ticket expectations.
Yip, just like today's game people getting ahead of themselves many a slip between Cup and lip. 🙄

Cliftonhill has less than half the capacity of Alloa though, to be fair. And I dare say Celtic playing in that area is - rightly or wrongly - probably seen as bigger fry than Hibs in Alloa.

Rules though. Surely if there’s an opportunity for a wee club to make big money they’ll see sense no matter if it’s us or United.
By the way I’m visiting Leigh next month for the Pete Shelley tribute gig. Is there really only two hotels?

When east kilbride from the lowland league drew celtc in the Scottish Cup in 2016 I know for a fact they wanted to play it at their own ground and were strong armed by the sfa to move the tie to airdrie's ground. My dad attended the meetings with the sfa and representitives from celtc and the sfa basically laughed at the idea of the tie being held at kpark claiming it wouldn't be safe, so the games don't nessesarily need to be held at the registered stadium

Yeah when there's safety concerns the game can be moved.

There wouldn't be any safety concerns about Hibs (or Dundee Utd) going to play BSC Glasgow in Alloa.

What safety concerns would there have been? (Between EK and Celtic)

Presumably they were concerned about several thousand Celtic fans turning up at East Kilbride's home ground which is effectively just a training pitch.

But Hibs fans could do the exact same thing at Alloa. Obviously the Celtic fans in the SFA wanted their clubs fans to have as many tickets as possible.

Surely that circumstance would suit tv companies to have the game at the smaller venue? That would have been nothing more than safety concerns.

Think there’s a couple of B&B’s but in terms of hotels there’s The Greyhound, Holiday Inn Express or Travelodge Lowton (it comes under Warrington but isn’t much different to The Greyhound in terms of distance to the town centre)

A Home Club shall notify the Board in the event that it considers that its Registered
Ground is unsuitable, for whatever reason, for the playing of a Match. The Board may,
itself, determine that a Home Club’s Registered Ground is unsuitable, for whatever
reason, for the playing of a Match. The Board has complete and sole authority to
make such a determination either on its own motion or consequentially upon
notification from a Club. In making a determination as to suitability of a Registered
Ground for the playing of a Match, the Board may have regard to the criteria in
Competition Rule 11 but it may also have regard to any other factor(s) it considers
relevant. In the event that the Board makes a determination that a Registered Ground
is unsuitable for the playing of a Match, then the Match in question shall be played at
such alternative Registered Ground as is determined by the Board. In such
circumstances the Clubs drawn to play in that Match shall, for all other purposes, retain
their respective statuses of Home Club and Away Club as originally drawn.

Not in the know about if we can or can’t move the game to another ground. However if we look at the first sentence of the rules about being unsuitable for whatever reasons, could this ( and I would say it could ) be justified for movement as the ground will not be big enough for expected away fans wanting to go? On the flip side to this it could be argued that every small club could use this reason just so they get a bumper pay deal.

BBC radio Scotland saying the game is set to go ahead at Alloa. Disappointed if true.

Whilst it's undoubtedly a dump, Alloa currently hosts matches in the country's second tier. There's no way it's going to be deemed unsafe to hold a cup tie there.

Can't see it being moved given Hibs Hearts and Rangers have all played games there recently and to be honest not sure it should be moved.
