This has banana skin written all over it, and sadly I think the Arabs will edge it with a goal from Sam Stanton.
Stanton’s been told he can find a new club, not sure he’ll play against us.

Really? He’s played quite regularly and scored few goals in the last month I noticed

Was told it’s because his agent has asked for too much when negotiating a new deal for him and Neilson called his bluff.

Fair enough, hope he can get another decent club.

3 zip to the cabbage. You can take this scoreline to the bank, we will dominate them.

My predictions are always wrong. I think Hibs will edge it - so my prediction is United will win comfortably.

I don’t think it’ll be “comfortable” for either team. Hopefully our better players are involved and can control the game. And hopefully our defence are able to keep Shankland and McMullen reasonably quiet.
All depends on whether we can match their application and work rate, something we failed to do at Livingston.

Hoping for a narrow win, but would probably be happy just to get them back to Easter Road tbh.

They’re a good team but this is the equivalent of going away to a St Johnstone, St Mirren etc not away to an aberdeen or motherwell IMO. Tricky game but expect to win 2-1 hibs

  15. #44
    Have some confidence guys!

They’re playing well yes but stop Shankland and we’ll stop them. I think we will be too much for them going forward and will have a midfielder in by then.

    3-1

I have absolutely no idea what the score will be, cos I haven't seen us play Dundee United for literally years now.

Therefore, I'm happy to predict a 4-4 draw with a 1-0 win for Hibs, after extra time, in the replay at Easter Road. The replay will be watched by a crowd of 18,372.

When do the tickets for the replay go on sale?

Very tough tie. I'm a bit worried to be honest.

Never mind when, I want to know if we'll be selling them in batches, with a max of six tickets per purchase... and not giving priority to ST holders.

I'm not getting a lot of the pessimism on this thread.
Teams riding high at top of Championship have done well against premiership clubs in recent seasons in any similar fixtures ( Ross County winning at Motherwell last season, us beating Hearts 2 seasons in a row).

Dont think the winter break does top flight club any favours so I can understand some worries and wouldnt be gutted with a draw.

I recall a few years ago two teams riding high in the Championship made it to the most talked about and fable final in the history of football romance

I’d take a draw now. The first game back after the winter break should be a league game IMO.

Dundee Utd are tinpot fuds. Get it right up them

  30. #59
One thing we can't afford to do is to give Shankland chances by our usual stand off and slow to react defending ...suppose other part is if our midfield all decide to turn up and work hard ....let's hope Flo is fit to partner Doidge ...

  31. #60
They will fancy their chances but their only real competition this season has been against a team we sent one of our young players on loan to for regular football. Huge step up playing Hibs to Alloa, Arbroath and Parkick or any of the other teams in that league. Not saying it'll be easy though
