    Pope's Antisemitic Gaffe

    https://jewishnews.timesofisrael.com...child-apology/

Is it fair to say that any criticism of the Rothschilds is anti Semitic, and does anyone believe he didn't know they were Jewish?

Well, you got me there. Thought there was some redirect problem on the website like "stop showing me an article about a random Port Vale player"

Ah, you must have been confused with Pope Frankie. The article is about Pope, Tom.

    1. No, but it is fair to say that "jokes" that essentially indulge wild conspiracy theories that US foreign policy is designed and run by Jewish bankers to further their own ends, are.

    2. He just might be thick enough.

Benny is retired. It's over to Frankie now.

I'm not too well up on these things. I've corrected it now.

Why is it anti semetic though?

The Rothschilds do generally own a very high proportion of world bank's don't they? So what he has said is in no way showing any sign of hatred or poking fun at Jewish people as a whole. Or am I misinformed as to what the Rothschild own or what an anti Semite is?

I just did a Google search "are hallyburton Jewish." The first three hits all had Rothschild in them.

It suggests that the name Rothschild and Judaism are inseperable. Thinking about Pope's tweet, it may have been better just to say "the bankers."

The Rothchild name is synonymous with Banking in the same way Murdoch is with Media, Buffet with investment and Gates with technology.

I don't the tweet is necessarily anti-semitic at all.

"You cannot come up with a list of the richest people without finding a slot for a Rothschild. This is a family that traces its lineage to the 1700s while they lived in Germany and their area has been largely banking."

Edit: for what it is worth I have no idea what religion, if any, the other 3 I mentioned are

For all I know Mr Pope could well be anti-Semitic.

That tweet, in itself, is not. In my opinion.
