Whelan is 36 in 4 days time.
    His race is run.
Don't want to see Hibs with a player that age unless he is a goalkeeper or Ronaldo.
Ronaldo is 43 now and would only be good as a back up for Doidge

    Works for Dobbie.
He's pretty much carried that team on his own for 4 seasons, keeping most of that squad in a job. If he never turned up for training and walzed in half gassed 5mins before kick off I doubt the QOS players would complain much... Whelan on the other hand😂

Naismith turns up on a thursday and friday. The rest of the week he does his own thing at his gym in his house with the specialist that helped him through injury at rangers. He doesnt trust hearts medical staff.

Bit of a mad article imo.

Because the guy doesn’t like doing media work and negotiated that at the start of his contract he deserves to be treated like that?

Very poor article but it's what we've come to expect from the Daily Record. Maybe he gets serious anxiety about going infront of the cameras himself. Like others have said, he was the best player on the park at ER when we played them so the article seems very harsh.

Who? It’s me that’s referring to Ronnie Whelan 😁

His best days were the 80’s.

Said it before - if you don’t play the journo’s game, they will target you.

Mind you, who agreed to that clause in Whelan’s contract? Why would you allow a senior and relatively high profile player to exempt themselves from media duties?

That's what I thought too - he may have social anxiety in these kinds of situations.

Either that or he can't be arsed.

Interesting to hear Whelan got MOTM in 5 of his last 15 matches. Not bad for someone going through the motions and training part time...

Isn’t that the sponsors wanting to meet the most high profile player at the end of the game?

If you followed the thread on page 1 ( last post), Hutchyhibby mentioned Ronnie
