DAN BLAST Daniel Stendel blasts Craig Levein and says Hearts aren’t professional enough to be big club

    • 31 Dec 2019, 22:28

DANIEL STENDEL has slammed predecessor Craig Levein’s work at Hearts — claiming the Jambos aren’t professional enough to be a big club.
As both director of football and manager, Levein had total control of the football side at Tynecastle.

Hearts are five points adrift at the bottom of the league and new boss Stendel said: “We have to try to bring more professionalism to the club on the sports side. We need to improve things now. For me, that is everything on the pitch, on the training pitch and here at the training complex.
“When I talk with Ann Budge and other people on the administration side of the club, you can see how they work in the boardroom, it’s so professional.
“Now we need to work hard to bring the sports side of the club up to that same level of professionalism.

Levein was axed in OctoberCredit: Getty Images - Getty“Then we won’t just be a good club, but a big club.”
Stendel, who has been left to pick up the pieces after Levein was axed, admits everything has to change to get the Jambos back on track.
The ex-Hannover and Barnsley boss confirmed he has been impressed with Budge’s work in the Gorgie boardroom.
However it’s a different story at the Riccarton training complex, where he has inherited a shambolic situation.

And it has not taken Stendel long to decide that what he has seen so far is nowhere near good enough.
Levein and his former No 2 Austin MacPhee remain on the payroll, despite their removal from first team-duties, and they are helping Budge in advisory roles.
Coaches Jon Daly and Liam Fox are also still at Tynecastle, despite being snubbed by Stendel, who has instead chosen to work with Andy Kirk.
The German remains hopeful of bringing in at least one of his former Barnsley assistants during this month’s winter shutdown.

He is also desperate to lure new players, although he admits that might be a tough task with Hearts marooned at the bottom of the table.
Despite the Jambos’ precarious position Stendel is confident he can turn things around and make sure they stay in the Premiership.
He added: “A lot of things have changed at Hearts, especially on the sports side. It’s not only the manager, but a lot of things around the team.
“When we achieve the same level across this side of things, we will have a really good club and a really good team.
“I’m focused on the games first and then we look for solutions to the other problems.”

But Levein and Austin are co-Sporting Directors in charge of recruitment. So funny this soap opera at Tinycastle.

He inherited a shambles yes but you can bet Levein would have won them more than one point from fifteen

Only massive bigly clubs overwater their pitch, leave the grass really long, etc, as a tactic. Until he grasps that he won't 'get' Hearts.

So we hammer Aberdeen 3-0 going on 5 at Easter Road yet the gorgie tramps are delighted with a draw at home to them? Small team mentality. They are going down.

They have not even mentioned it on Kickback. Ignorance is bliss.

However their thread on the front page about McGinn is something else. Some of their hatred for Hibs is so strong that they actually think he is a poor player!

You are talking about the same support who claimed Cochrane was a better player than McGinn. Fantasyland stuff.

To be honest I think they are at the desperation stage and have turned Stendel into some kind of Messiah. They will literally let him away with anything.

The best thing is that this whole thing is being filmed for a tv show. This could be the most hilarious tv since Faulty Towers.

There's a song about him on their "song book" thread and I'm not making this up...

Not even getting the basic rules for a Limerick right. Lines 1,2 & 5, and lines 3 & 4, have to rhyme.

So for example if you started off with the line "We have a new manager named Danny" then the next line would have to end in something which rhymed with Danny. And so on.

Mind you, it was a really, really, really good draw. Probably the best draw ever.

Let’s not forget the huge celebrations after the credible 2 nil defeat at home to Celtic.

What a brave performance that was in the face of such adversity. A real season changer for them.

Indeed and that’s why SJM is playing in the EPL and in 2019 wonderboy reached the heights of the Scottish Championship making 12 appearances yes 12 appearances.

It's like they make up silly songs about draws and Stendel to try and escape from reality. If they got relegated via the playoffs they'd sing about "the bravest relegation in history" and how it was all part of the rebuilding process. Can't win. Complete denial.

Zico Cochrane? He is better than McGinn, as the song says. Some of his sporadic sub appearances for Dunfermline Athletic are the stuff of legend. He did a 720 degree rabona followed by a semi reverse pike with tuck in the alloa derby last week.incredible.

Has anybody ever seen Daniel Stendel and Henning Wehn* in the same room at the same time?
