Suppose if you don’t end up at Edinburgh’s big team as rumoured then you have to readjust your expectations.

The West Ham fans must be a bit perturbed by this. They let Moyes go last time because the board said they wanted a manger who could take them to the next level. Now they return to square one, with another relegation battle. Little wonder their board are so unpopular.

Just had a quick glance at some West Ham forums and they are not happy. There's even a 'Moyes Out' thread; Christ I thought we were a tough crowd

I'd be amazed if it's a popular appointment with the WH fans, and he's always IMO been vastly overrated but if he keeps them away from relegation then he'll probably get another 6 months added to his contract ( i believe it's a 1.5 year contract). If they've got any pretensions towards, say, European qualification in the future, he's the wrong man for the job IMO.

Nothing left for it after Hearts got their first choice. Good luck with second prize Dave.

If I was a West Ham fan, I would be looking at what has happened at Goodison and look at who Everton have appointed and have a WTF moment. For a club who are very much go forwards at the moment, this seems to be a go backwards step.

I had hoped this horrid club with its awful owners and dodgy stadium lease deal get relegated, even more so now Moyes and his own self importance have landed. They all deserve each other!

Everton are a bigger club, going to build a brilliant new stadium soon and have an owner with very deep pockets. Definitely think they are more attractive that west ham although you're right, they probably could've done better than Moyes. Marcelino, Emery, Kovac etc all would've been more interesting and exciting.

Amazed at his humility when he appears to have done so well on all fronts since leaving Everton.
