Delighted for Wright, finally cracked it in a major final against MVG and picked the perfect time to do it, at the Worlds. Always good to see one of the good guys win. Also means that the first world champion of the decade in any sport is a Scot.

I stopped watching a couple of years ago due to idiots like him and Gurney. Not a fan of Van Gerwen either.
It seems a bit unnecessary to stop watching the sport completely just because of one or two players. Obviously Price is an **** hole but you can always just skip their matches, you're missing out on some good tv?

In any case, I think it will be interesting to see what happens with Price from here, there's no hope of him ever repairing his reputation after this one and the crowds will make his life hell more than ever now wherever he goes.

It's hard to win darts matches when the crowd are on your back ever time you're throwing for a double. Should be fun to watch.

just tuned in to watch VG and saw replay of price walking off after getting beat, what a distasteful ungracious pathetic man, the sorest of sore losers, not pleasant to watch, clashed with gary anderson as well a while back iirc

and he calls himself "the iceman" lol, aye supercool he certainly is not

anyway, i suspect yet another runner-up for peter wright
GP looks like he has roid rage seems ridiculously aggressive. Something not right with him imo.

    Brilliant by Wright well deserved.

Price is angry or frustrated at someone or something. Although darts has the pantomime villain aspect, he has let this aggressive persona define him and it won't do him any good. He was the form player going in to the Worlds and won't need pointing out this morning, that not being in control of his temper has cost him dearly.

For the much aligned BDO Worlds, the match just ended between Waites and Mitchell was real quality.

Waites earned his PDC tour card today so he'll be moving over for the next 2 years at least. He'll do well I reckon. Andy Hamilton and Lisa Ashton also won cards and have confirmed they'll be playing the PDC events.

Fallon Sherrock really should have taken all the points against Glen Durrant last night and maybe choked a bit at 6-4 up and settled for the share. For her sake, i hope that the crowd settle down and stop treating her like a novelty act.

Presenter Dave Clarke has announced his retirement, he’s presented the darts for 22 years and for the last 10 with Parkinson’s. A truly remarkable man.

I had no idea he had Parkinson's. Does not seem like 22 years either!

Poor performance from Anderson v Pipe, got through though. Wade next in round 2.

I’ve been surprised how enjoyable it’s been, I thought it would be rubbish without the crowds.

Cullen versus White is one of the best match ups that I have seen for a while. Great game. Also good to see The Iceman melting again. The commentator said, tonight the Price isn't right.

MVG handed his arse tonight by Whitlock. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him play so badly since he got his game together.

Really gutsy showing by Van der Bergh. Durrant just falling short again.

the judge needs to force van den bergh to throw with his other arm instead, not a final the viewers wanted to see, sky will need to show replays of other finals to make up the alloted coverage time.
