    Willie Ormond and Paul Heckingbottom

Wednesday trivia - what do the above duo uniquely have in common?

EDIT: Original reference to Willie Mcfarlane now requires to be removed

Less than 30 games in charge?

Nearly all of them were called Willie?

Is it that these are the only three Hibs managers with a 100% winning record at Tynecastle? I mean Ormond gets through on a technicality, because he didn't oversee a game there and 100% of 0 is 0. I wouldn't be able to tell you if that's unique, though.

arguably the 3rd one could be described as a willie as well, indeed he was quite often

Is it that they all had a ten game unbeaten run in the league?

    That can't be unique, surely?

Isn't unique, and AFAICT, Ormond's league streak was only eight games long.

That total is 25 - the total number of league games he played.

His longest league streak (i.e. run of games without losing) was 8 games long, in division one.

Yeah, not a bad one either. Shame that the facts had to shoot it down!

Did they all play the now legendary high pressing game?

They all have male neither regions in their name? Boaby Williamson would be included if that was the answer though as would the Ginger Judas Prick.

I think McFarlane's would count as the most impressive.

Long before my time but his record at Hibs was pretty decent.

Is it, the game after their sacking, we won without having a permanent manager? I'm sure we beat Celtic? 2-0 after WMc's sacking, not sure about WO though. Long time ago so I'm probably slavering.

Ormond was not sacked, he retired on health grounds.

Sacked because he refused to follow the drunken orders of a dictator a man of principle brought Shades and Nijinsky to the club and built an excellent HIBS side playing attractive football and scoring loads of goals 😎

Some great possible answers in here but the one I'm looking for is that they are the three permanent (i.e. non caretaker) custodians of the managerial role who, after taking the job, did not manage to remain in place to spend a Christmas and New Year in the hot seat - MacFarlane through a fall out at or around the time of our Fairs Cup game v Liverpool and Ormond through ill health. Not sure whether there was a calendar in the 1960s or 1980s in which they failed to feature though!

You're spot on Billy - he was in post from September 1979 to December 1970. The original source data I looked at was incorrect. The question therefore needs to be changed to what Willie Ormond and Paul Heckingbottom have in common!
