James Fowler won’t be his assistant or a coach. Moving to Killie as director of football.

Not entirely sure John McGinn was busting a gut to relegate his brother that day...
Tell that to Neil Lennon and the 20000 that turned up

There is no doubt he wanted to win a game of football even although a point was fine

Anyway regardless were St Mirren good or were we just gash and took our foot off the gas?

You really are determined to swim against the tide on every single subject brought up on this forum. It's admirable.
I agree apart from the final word

I think our foot was off the gas for the majority of that season!

That’s disappointing, supposed to be an excellent coach and he was heavily influential in the training at St Mirren while Ross was there.

Not sure this is the correct appointment but would be delighted to be proved wrong. Will get right behind him

Ross was the no 1 target for weeks now but obviously we had to check who would be interested in the job. Kennedy never seemed likely unless he was keen to move which we will never know if that was the case. An added bonus of getting Ross is he seems to be the guy most of the press wanted us to go for so we won't have the sniping that we constantly got when we appointed hecky.

Lewis Morgan was brilliant that day

Mind that McInnes failed at Bristol after doing very well at St Johnstone. How you do in England isn't necessarily a bearing of your performance up here.

That’s a good point - the media do sway a lot of people’s opinions and having one they like means his signings won’t be criticised early etc.

On the other hand it is annoying when they won’t criticise and they all jump to defend them when they’re clearly not doing a good job - there’s still comments being made now about Lennon having “grown out of the Hibs job” now - a year after he was sacked/about to be sacked for a run of poor performances.

Sure he isn't on loan anywhere, don't think he's even warming the celtic bench. He is however in the scotland squad

I’m amazed at the calibre of people Hearts are looking at, it’s a dreadful list of candidates that I’ve heard so far.

Think Budge has backed herself into a corner a bit by saying she wants an experienced manager. There’s really no that many good ones available.

    Can’t be right.

Leeann and Ron rely on Budge for advice, because she is so much better in every respect, so surely Hearts have secured their new manager and we were only allowed to talk to Jack Ross once he’d been told he wasn’t wanted by them?

Sure but we were in party mode, saying goodbye to Keating's, Fyvie etc and they were desperate for survival. Wouldn't read much into that game.
They were excellent. Particularly Morgan and Mallan.

Do you know who will be the assistant then? This appointment becomes more risky with a different management team, it's as much about the assistant and other coaches as it is about the manager/head coach. We know that from Stubbs' time.

Hope if it does happen it will be a successful time for all parties.

    Stelios Demetriou.

He's an English born Cypriot, now playing for Macclesfield.

That night was also notable as Efe Ambrose's debut.
Thanks mate. Wouldn’t say no to getting him in as cover. Didn’t realise that was Ambrose debut either, we got hammered that game.

Not a clue. Been rumours of Ian Murray or John Potter.

Sunderland echo reporting Craig Samson as goalie coach and also a first team coach coming in, end of the road for Murray and Combe?

As much as I love Dylan and definitely would want him back, there’s a nagging doubt that he wouldn’t be quite as good as last time without McGinn. No matter where on the park or how many players were around him McGinn was always an out ball for McGeough. He’d only have mere mortals to pass to now.

Saying that Allan has still shown he can still be excellent without McGinn so sure Dylan would be the same. Would need real energy in between those two IMO.

Dylan was class with Allan before McGinn came to the club although he was injured a lot when he was on loan from Celtic.

Jack Ross move is off. Pulled at the 11th hour and will be manager at Hearts.

Held talks initially with Hearts and he was desperate to sign but Budge feared the fans wouldn't be completely sold on it. Knowing of Hibs interest Budge and Ross struck a deal that involved him first speaking to hibs, agreeing a deal, all the fine deatils, having the media get wind and prompting a welcome Jack Ross thread on Hibs net. At the final televised signing of the contract he is to hover the pen over the dotted line before slamming it down and ripping his shirt open Superman style to reveal a Hearts top and start singing the Hearts song, finish with a 'get it right up ye' and accompanying hand gesture, grab the young female hibs physio by the hand and run over to tynie. Sign a deal there, fans won over.
