I know ACH relatively well, and I like him and pretty much all of his policies, with the obvious exception of Scottish Independence. I'm a wee bit surprised by how successful he's doing in political life because - and I mean this with a fondness of the man- he's pretty simple and disorganised.

Good to hear. As said in a previous post I had heard positive things mentioned in relation to ACH. I've been very happy with the current politicians serving us here in Edinburgh West and will vote for Christine Jardine and her Lib Dem party in the upcoming GE.

Still got a vote at my last UK address. A lib/lab marginal so it depends on the candidates. Might well vote Green as long as the tories have no chance.

Are the Monster Raving Loony party still going? Or have they re-branded as Tories/Labour/SNP etc...

Anyone apart from the SNP or Labour. I'm not a fan of Boris Johnson and think he's unfit to be Prime Minister but the thought of Jeremy Corbyn being Prime Minister scares me and I could never vote SNP.

I'll consider voting for an Independent candidate if there is one in my area.

It's a waste of time though as the SNP will win easily in my constituency.

SNP for me.. the only party that genuinely tries to improve Scotland.. anything else is a wasted vote IMO..

They took a very clear position on Brexit in 2016 which has stood the test of time far better than the main parties - they suggested sending Noel Edmonds to the European Parliament "because he understands Deal or No Deal".

The Greens have a 15k majority in my constituency, but this was achieved because the Libs stood down. I'll have to wait and see.

Take it that is ( rather unique) Brighton. Where is there next best showing, I wonder.

Joking aside, it's a disgrace. Either the UK gives all UK citizens the vote for life like countries such as France, or they give the vote to anyone liable for UK tax, like EU citizens in the UK. The fact that both are restricted is a democratic affront.

Indeed. Brighton is lopsided due to its high percentage of students. The Greens had control of the Council a few years back, and they were a disaster for the city, so not my favourite party. The LibDems have put a candidate up this time around, which muddies the water a bit. Lucas has had the seat since 2010, backs Remain, and has a high profile here, so I'll probably tick her box on the night.

Mainly their introduction of bus lanes in unsuitable roads, which caused, and are still causing, massive tailbacks of traffic into and out of the city. Changes to road and interchange layouts which would take months to implement and then be reconfigured within months. A general mismanagement of council services which saw several strikes. Basically, they didn't have a clue what they were doing.

Bin men and street cleaners. The combined effect of all those cars and lorries idling in jams, and the general whiff of uncollected waste and manky streets didn't do much for their green-ness
