Liam Craig was no way personally a big contribution to us going down ....collectively the players - sure ..Butcher and Malpas definitely - but can’t see how anyone could single Craig out. Never hid - even when struggling for form ...
He struggled for form the whole time he was here.
Don’t hold him responsible for us going down. That lies with Petrie, Butcher, Malpas, Thomson and McPake. They were the people who couldn’t put differences aside for the team and were running to the press every two minutes and Petrie was the one who should have stepped in and put a stop to it.
Liam Craig is off the hook for me. Still not very good though.

So out of all the players that season, only KT and McPake were responsible for us going down?

Liam Craig's contribution to our relegation was to carry out his manager's orders as a good pro should. As he was one of the few who got on with his job and didn't question Butcher he found himself with the captaincy, a role that wasn't all that natural to him at that stage and one that stuck him right in the firing line.

I really feel for Liam Craig when it comes to Hibs. He's had an excellent career and done well when played in his best position but found himself at Hibs at totally the wrong time, surrounded by totally the wrong people.

We should show him a bit of gratitude for the role he played in Stubbs' first season, where a team that was dying on its arse following a quite horrific relegation managed to change into a watchable team that gave us back a bit of pride and a few cracking results and performances along the way, and the foundation upon which our Scottish Cup win was built.

Wasn't Liam Craig our top goalscorer the season we went down?

I get there is a price range but how do the old firm seem to unearth random foreign players, who was the last we did and sold on for cash de la cruis, Larrson it’s a gap surely we are failing in

They have a lot more money for scouting networks so can afford to cast their net further and wider than ours

Plus agents are a lot more likely to offer their players to the old firm than to us

They seem to always get linked with random players we wouldn’t know about but we get players from down south, lazy recruitment, outwith budget maybe just feels a bit *****. It’s the most exciting part of a football fan singing an unknown with a foreign name 😂 half truth

I'd hazzard a guess and say the players they unearth are anything but random.

This. It's pretty obvious really. Old firm can also pay more, provide guaranteed European football and offer greater exposure through TV.

I think our foreign recruitment has been better since being relegated

    Malonga
    Slivka
    Kamberi
    MacLaren
    Omeonga
    Marciano
    Gunnarson
    Hallberg

All players no one would have known anything about and have been decent enough acquisitions.

We don’t have enough money to send scouts to these places to it’s often done on recommendation, scout offering them, watching video footage etc

I think Lennon done well finding foreign players based on dealings he’d had with certain agents etc in the past maybe when he was at Celtic

If that's the case then fair comment. One or two duffers as well mind.

Scored a last minute winner against livi, 1 minute after they had equalised.

Brought in as cover for our main strikers, did his job and left at the end of the season. Hardly a Rowan Vine.

I’d hazzard a guess that to you and me the player ethylene have been linked with this last week you won’t have heard of them or know much about them which is my point

Surely you don't expect Ozzyhibs to come up with a sensible comment .He obviously likes to be controversial

Not sure if it's been mentioned. Motherwell have signed Mikael Ndjoli from Bournemouth on loan, he was on loan at Killie last season.
