Problem - planes leaving Milan are over the alps quickly and sunrise in Milan isn't until 8am. Plus Ryanair have a Milan-Brussels flight at 9am.

I saw Vela playing against Reading at the start of last season and he was a standout - involved in all Bolton's attacks and made the only goal of the game with a cracking ball over the Reading defence. If we can get that Vela playing we have a real star on our hands.

The only other player I remember seeing was Newell and I was also impressed with him as a counter-attacking midfielder - making himself availabe and moving the ball on quickly. Not a winger though. I might also have seen Jackson, but can't be sure.

Well I haven’t seen anything from Vela that makes me want him to stay But from your description maybe New Manger needs to see if he can coax that type of performance from him before making a decision
Newell just hasn’t been consistent and isn’t a starter for me unless things improve

I wonder if something could be in the offing then as normally there’s updates from the journalists on twitter who are there.

I know sometimes when there’s news to announce they tell the journalists about it but don’t let them release the news until a certain time (there’s a name for an agreement like that but I can’t remember what it is)

That's interesting because I too have witnessed Vela linking up well on occasion - in a Hibs shirt that is - when we've been in possession. Unfortunately where he has been as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike is in breaking up play and tracking back when NOT in possession - ie exactly what we all somehow expected him to be good at and what the team needed following the departures of Bartley and Milligan. Ultimately I suspect that, like Doidge and Newell, Vela is not nearly as useless as we have made him out to be but, similar to Newell, is a completely different player to the one we somehow expected him to be. We are already replete with creative talent in that area and Vela is at the back of the queue at the moment - not necessarily a bad player but a bad signing - time for him to move on if at all possible.
