Hopefully McNulty gets an agreement to terminate his contract. Even £500,000 is a ton of money to get in a lump sum, even though if he waits then he’d get over £1million but how much would his career be impacted waiting another couple of years not getting game time.

So he stays there is guaranteed 1.25m but mind if agrees pay off for a bit less he is then going to be paid by us or whoever for that same period. If we gave him 4k per week per say that's 400k over 2 years so if reading gave him 800k to cancel it he is no worse off.

In which case Reading will want a transfer fee that covers most of the pay off, so we're looking at £500k+ even if McNulty takes a hit in exchange for getting the money immediately.

I'd expect a loan which Reading will hope raises his profile enough to encourage bids in the summer. We could be one of those bidders depending on how well he does - too well and he's out of our reach, not well enough and we won't want him.

That type of deal would suggest they won’t be able to up the ante. Suits us as I think we have to hold on to Kamberi till summer at least. I can’t help feeling he is not really settled at ER these days and will eventually go.

I think Hibs would value McNulty at approx. £200k and £3k a week.

£200k is no use to Reading if they have to pay him off and £3k a week is no use to McNulty without a £700k pay off so in conclusion McNulty can only be a loan to Hibs for another 2 years.
Like Griffiths he will arrive at Easter Road when the gravy train pulls in or like Henderson, when we are the best option.

Reading have cleared their FFP woes by a sale and lease deal on their stadium. Like Underscore I think it will be a loan with option to buy if he comes to Hibs - likewise if he goes to Swindon.

On another tack, would anyone take Sone Aluko on loan? He's back at Reading but I can't see him being in Bowen's plans as he's been absolute mince here. Did alright at Aberdeen though.

Sone Aluku has done well to forge a career down south from what I saw of him at Aberdeen and Rangers.
Hibs signing him would have disaster written all over it.

Agreed. Centre halfs and then Stevenson with a weak challenge at fault for first.

Every goal we lose is scrutinised and someone ends up getting the blame. Sometimes our players will be turned/beaten without necessarily making any huge mistake. Sometimes an opposition player will thread through a killer Allanesque pass that beats our defence - it doesn't always mean that they're asleep or "soft as *****".

Yes there are times when we could/should defend better, but there isn't a team in the world that doesn't concede goals.

I know this is a forum for discussions, but at times the inquisitions and accusations on here are way OTT.
