    .. cos Hearts always threw a 6.

And I kept on rolling the dice until they did.

    Snap

I had a few "live" games on every week, which I played on my Waddington's Table Soccer. The rest were done by dice. Rolling a 6 meant you were "nil".

Hey so did I! Though with a 6 there was another roll of the dice and if it was another 6 it was 6 goals.

Just wondered how this ended up on the Hearts mega thread
Mrs doctor Budge is bringing out her own version very soon, Hearts just escape relegation as she moves them up two places when nobody's looking.

Turns out Budge designed a new box for the game.
While the game retails at £19.99, sadly the box she designed - with a glass curtain frontage and a castle view as standard - costs £26.00 per box to manufacture.

The Waddington box-makers have recently been given an ultimatum of taking a 50% pay cut or being laid off.

An email has since surfaced from Borthwick - sent to rival boxmakers, it offers them untold riches in the autumn if they take the Waddington job instead, without any idea how that makes Waddington look in everyone's eyes.

Waddingtons are waging a press & media charm offensive to blame it all on Corona virus, and definitely not on the glass curtain, the castle view, or Queen Ann - who we are reminded is "a shrewd business brain".

Can’t see the Tories forming a pact with the likes of Alex Salmon and Ian Murray any time soon.

Not sure about Salmond but Murray is pretty much a Tory given his voting record

They have taken a wage deferral for three months. 50% so creates a £4m debt for Sevco.

Certainly not heard anything to say an agreement has been struck with the rebel 20. So it looks like they are with no agreement in place

    https://www.gov.uk/guidance/claim-for-wage-costs-through-the-coronavirus-job-retention-scheme#employees-you-can-claim-for

Unless I'm reading the UKG guidance wrong, it looks like people working on reduced pay cannot be furloughed. So Naismith is sitting pretty on half pay and can't be furloughed but if Budgie decides she can't afford to keep paying the other players their full whack per month, and they don't agree to reduced pay or deferred payments, she may have no option but to furlough them and they might find themselves on £2500 per month. Or am I talking rubbish?

I'll happily defer to someone who knows what they're talking about, cos I'm not sure I do.

Edit- can't post a hyperlink properly and sure how I should.

It's a funny one as this whole time Naismith has been painted as a saint for accepting half pay.... maybe 5k A WEEK..?

When the other option to him would be to get the government allotted 2.5k a month!

Hmmm why's he getting any plaudits again? Seems he's played a blinder! (For possibly the first time this season?!)

That can’t be right because our whole squad is on reduced pay and they have been furloughed.

He has been furloughed. The govt pay £2500 per month of his wages and Hearts pay the rest up to 50% of his deal.

Apologies if I'm spreading duff info.

The UKG website states "If an employee is working, but on reduced hours, or for reduced pay, they will not be eligible for this scheme".

I think I have misinterpreted this initially. Looking at it again, I think it's saying that you cannot use the scheme if the employee keeps working, even if it's on reduced pay or reduced hours.

I might leave this to experts from now on...

In the absence of an expert (ie CWG), I'd say the key word is "working".

So if the players are left to train on their own instead of reporting to East Mains, they're not working and can be furloughed. I don't think that would be the case if Hibs have issued them with training programmes and are monitoring the players' fitness, but there's still a lot of detail to be released about the scheme.
Mature, sensible signature required for responsible position. Good prospects for the right candidate. Apply within.

I would imagine for a player to be fully furloughed then no training would be allowed, or certainly no direction or contact with the club...

That’s my understanding - so that would mean they couldn’t do the phone calls they’ve been doing either.

The Aberdeen chairman said on the radio at the weekend that furlough means no work at all for the club - they took the decision to not furlough due to this.

If I worked for a big company and as part of my CPD the company were paying for me to study an OU course, if I was using my time while furloughed to do extra studying then I doubt that would be seen as a breach of the furlough.
I think players training at home comes into the same category.

The Aberdeen chairman was clear on the legal advice he’s taken. Not sure if the other clubs have had differing advice or are just changing it and hoping there’s too many of them doing it to get caught.

    The generic Hearts thread

They are a weird lot. They have no deal at all with their players and are still paying their full wages but clubs who are getting deferrals are making crazy decisions? Doubt I’ll ever understand them.

The Hibs players are furloughed and the club are paying up to an agreed sum of their wage on top of the govt 2.5k a month. The balance above the actual monthly amount paid is deferred. So every one of our players will get their full wage over time. I think too many folk are getting into the technicalities as to what constitutes working while furloughed. The players will be keeping themselves ticking over.

The phone calls were voluntary, nae bother with those.

Furlough means no working for the employer. Don’t think the club can be setting rigid training plans as this might be seen as a work task. But the players aren’t meeting up for training anyhow so little or no tactical work can be done.

Players will of course be expected to keep fit but intensity will of course drop, furlough or not. So mad not to imo... at least the club gets £2.5k a month for each player, better than nothing.
