So that will be Celtic and Rangers chiefs arguing for and against league closure and the decision being kicked down the road until those two decide to resume the same argument.
Exactly what will happen. Yet again.

Any decision to finish the league and declare its over is a SPFL board decision not a club decision. Any decision on reconstruction IS a club decision eg 11-1 vote.

Rangers Stuart Robertson is on SPFL board so you can imagine how easy that will be to get the bitter staunch one to agree to season finishing as it is.
I’m not so sure that will be the Rangers take on things.

Play the season out and Celtic win the title . Call the season now and they can argue for ever more it wasn’t a real title win.

Afterall they’ve argued they’re the original Rangers for 8 years now.

Has it really been 8 years?! Man they must have racked up some number of trophies in that time!.... No?!

Ugh. The longer this thing is undecided the more likely that one of the teams above HMFC go in to Admin and suffer a points deduction which takes them down, to the benefit of spawny Hearts.

Don't think Brechin are doing that badly.

They are. They’re 7 points adrift at the bottom of League 2.

This will be in the forefront of Budges mind imho. They will want this to run as long as possible hoping another team goes pop before they do!

He's being smart, there's only 10 teams in League 2. Serves Brechin right, they sacked Darren Dods who had taken them to the highest league placing in their history, they were punching way above their weight. Now they're on the verge of going out of the league. They 'll find it hard to argue they wouldn't finish bottom but I suspect they'll argue that play offs shouldn't happen this season.

The board have already said they will defer to the clubs on this issue. They will likely make a recommendation to the clubs though.

As Lapsed Hibee mentioned Brechin are not as bad as you state. They’re 10th in League 2, not 12th. There’s only 10 teams in League 2 ! Not that I’m being pedantic .
Ok I admit not enough to take up my attention these days 😀

Was reported on BBC Radio 5 this morning that there’s a meeting today with the heads of Scottish Football on their position with the league

Damnit, I shouldn't have deleted my "something's happening at Hampden" thread after all...

Not sure. That seems to have started in 1969. There was another called Goal, which started in 1968. But I think there might have been ladders before then, maybe very early 1960s?

Shoot started them but it looks as if Shoot and Goal had merged by 1975.

I had a few "live" games on every week, which I played on my Waddington's Table Soccer. The rest were done by dice. Rolling a 6 meant you were "nil".

An earlier version had all teams coloured yellow, I think. Nice shade for the Hearts there though

Very interesting, but what has that got to do with Hearts current financial woes?

The cream of all football games, Waddingtons table soccer,
Spent hours playing tournaments on it, used the league ladder tabs to do the draw, big bowl just like the cup draw.

Found a table soccer at a car boot last year, £2,what a bargain.

    .. cos Hearts always threw a 6.

And I kept on rolling the dice until they did.
