    Jason Naismith probably isn’t tbf.

To be fair the future youth of both clubs isn’t really up to much.

    More worrying for Scottish football.

Hibs seemed better team today but with no final quality.

Hammer did well / Murray too (except his miss).

Never progressed beyond that. Youth level, he's 21.
Definitely ****ing has. His goals in Europe, in cup semi and in the top division of Scottish football are proof of that. Take a day off, seriously.

The problem with Shaw is that he isn’t consistent enough at this level compared to someone like a Ryan Porteous who had really stamped his place in the first team.

Shaw needs to step up and remain consistent to stay there otherwise he’ll be moved on.

You might say that he needs game time but the only way he’s going to get game time is playing consistently well when called upon. We’ve seen it in flashes but not enough to make you think he’s got a really bright future here and will be on a number of clubs’ radar in a couple of years time. Needs to start grabbing games by the scruff of the neck and showing his true potential. He’s very good at youth level as we’ve seen but we’ve had plenty of youngsters like that in the past that were unplayable at youth level but when it came to the first team, they couldn’t cut it on a consistent basis. They’d be good one game and the next, you’d forget that they were even on the pitch.

At 21 years old he needs to definitely start playing regularly if he wants to progress further.

Pretty poor game. Both teams guilty of giving away possession at crucial times. Hibs had the better chances overall but the finishing was poor.

How come he can't get a game then? He'll be away in January.

I love it. There's a million posts on this Board saying our manager's clueless, then somehow Oli Shaw's a bad player because Hecky doesn't pick him!

He can’t get a game because some balloon decides to play one up top week in week out and persists with a striker that finds difficulty in the role.

Maybe it's just because shaw isnt very good. If he wasnt a youth product peoples opinions would be a lot different.

Possibly. But it also be because he’s not suited to one up top.

I guess we find out when Hecky gets punted.

I agree about both teams giving away possession but thought Hibs were by far the better team. Playing football was difficult on a heavy bumpy pitch.

Fraser Murray and Jamie Gullan stood out.

I was sitting behind the Hibs bench and was surprised at the number of coaching staff we have - Combe, May, Mikel and Nish who were joined by Hecky and Stockdale (tho they didn't really get involved) and I believe Grant Murray was there too as well as Gareth Evans who was sitting with George Craig in the stand.

I was disappointed with the communication from the bench to the players as it seemed to be very critical as opposed to offering encouragement or praise, when due.
There didn't seem to be a great team spirit!

And if he is away in January (he wont be) his next club will also be at a much higher level than youth level. Absolute and complete rubbish that he hasn't made it beyond youth level.

Shaw has never had a run of games like Ryan has. Why does he need to be starting at 21? I can name 50 players who went on to become absolute brilliant but weren't regulars at 21.

He has had no game time to prove that. Thought he looked sharp when came on at Motherwell not sure he has had a minute since.

    I’ll start. Derek Riordan.
