First the story about Ben Stokes' family history, then the journalist informing Gareth Thomas' parents about his HIV diagnosis, and now this...

Rangers should ensure the DR join the BBC and never allow them in their stadium ever again - as should every club in Scotland. Not too long after launching a "Respect Our Players" campaign too?! Utter ****.
This incredibly crass and desperate journalism from the Daily Record is worthy of them being banned from every club in Scotland. That wasn’t just an insult to Michael Mols, Rangers or the memory of Rickson, it’s an insult to the sport of football.

Bless the loved one's he left behind.
They will be beside themselves with grief, but relieved that he is no longer suffering.
    Rest in peace Fernando.

No, you don’t ban them, you argue against them.

This nonsense is only confirmation of the Record’s desperation and increasing irrelevance as their circulation continues to head south.

3 of my close relatives including my mum died from MND.

It's a truly horrific thing to have to cope with for all the family. To see someone who hasn't lived even half their life and with a young family have to suffer is just heartbreaking.

    RIP
Wow, that’s really tough going mate. Thoughts with you too 👍

43, what a damn shame. When he was at Rangers, he was a player I loved to hate, as he was very annoying. However, that was just a game of football; to die so young is terrible for all who know him. He fought a terrible disease.

Real shame for the lad and his family. My thoughts are with them.

I read earlier on Twitter Graham Spiers receiving a lot of vitriol from Rangers fans angered with his Times obituary for Ricksen. It’s behind a paywall so I haven’t read it, and I suspect those aiming their fury at him haven’t either.

Minutes applause before today’s game. Surprised at that to be fair - no connection to either club and wasn’t expecting us to be having a tribute.

Who cares? I’ll applaud for what that man went through.

    Yes I believe there was.

I don't have any problem with us having one but it's odd that there's not one for Junior Agogo who played for us. Or even for Bobby Prentice who played for Hearts.

I also strongly believe that we should be having a silence instead of an applause especially when it's for someone so young.

It's an utter nonsense decision, presumably one driven by cowardice.

Did they do it at Celtic today? serious question it may be every club have agreed to do so.

And no minutes applause for someone with no connection whatsoever to the the 2 teams in the derby.
    Very strange decision.

I'd be surprised if they didn't after Lennon and Lawwell laid a wreath at Ibrox the other day.

To be fair Billy Dodds and Kenny Miller former team mates really struggled to say anything complimentary about Fernando on sportsound last week. "He was a character, never stopped for a minute on or off the field, great player, and an absolute bam with a drink"

I do find it weird we're doing it for Ricksen and didn't for Agogo.
