What a lovely but sad story.. this shows the best side to our beautiful game now let’s get a result for this lovely family to take home with them.

As someone who's old man will never get to take his grandkids to Easter Road, that's for me near enough bawling my eyes out on the train home ffs!
Get that on loop at the training ground for the next week. If the players don't turn up and put in a performance after seeing that, then we are in a worse place than I think we currently are.

Been so much talk of people staying away, wanting us beat on Sunday if this doesn’t put fire in your belly nothing will.
Beautiful video 💚

What a wonderful story.
I seem to have got some dust in my eyes while reading it. 😢

What a great video that is.
I still get to go to the football with my grandad and I’m fully aware of how lucky that makes me 💚

Very moving and heartfelt. RIP Alex - Rena still has her Scottish accent and I bet as a proud Leither you did too.
This is how it feels

Ron Gordon being involved and seeing this video will help him understand what he has bought and lessen the chance of any naughtiness further down the track.
Great stuff. Would bring a tear to a glass eye!

What a wonderful tribute to Alex from his wife and family. There won't be many who can watch that video without having a year in their eye.
Let's hope the team play their part on Sunday in making the family's pilgrimage to Easter Road a truly memorable one.

What a wonderful tribute to Alex, and his family.
Terrific video and well done to all involved
I live in Oz, and was involved along with others, in the setting up of the Australia Branch of the supporters association, 32 years ago.
It is still active today, with members in every state of Australia, and we’ve even joined up with our Kiwi cousins.
We have a very active and socially inclusive ‘group’ on Facebook, but we still hear from time to time, a story like Alex’s, where it turns out, the family were completely unaware of the existence of many like minded people.
Facebook is obviously not for everyone, but If you have Hibs minded relatives in Australia or New Zealand, let them know of our existence, we’re not hard to find, and offer a platform to meet, and exchange views on all things Hibernian.
Unfortunately, I never got to meet Alex, but his story is an inspiring one, and I hope his family can take comfort from the way the wider Hibs family, have reacted so positively to it.
