    Holiday Money brexit

I'm off to the States in November after the Brexit deadline. What are people's thoughts on when to get currency? Anyone else off abroad after deadline? What you doing?

I'm going to Australia in November.

I'll wait till October before deciding whether or not to buy dollars in advance.

If there's any chance of a deal, the £ will strengthen. If not, it's bound to head south.

I use the Halifax Clarity card.

No fees even for cash withdrawals, and full commercial exchange rates.

Currently offering £20 cashback, ends Thursday 29th.

You'd make good money if you knew what will happen, so I wouldn't expect to get great advice on here. I'd say just buy when you need it and don't worry too much about it.

Debenhams offer a £5 voucher with every exchange over £20. If you wanted to play the long game, and if you shop in Debenhams, then exchange £20+ every time you shop there and build up your dollars. Spreads out the currency movement risk and if it works against you you'll still have gained from the vouchers.
    Mon the Hibs.
