    Where to sell Jewellery

Where would be the best place to sell a Platinum and Diamond ring?

It was valued a few years ago at around 8-9k but we are not sure where would be the best place to take it for a honest price.

Should we expect a price close to the valuation if selling to a jeweller .

    Can anyone recommend anywhere?

Always best to sell to a jeweller rather than a pawnbroker however getting close to the value from a jeweller is another matter. They will obviously be looking to make a decent profit from it too. Do you have the valuation documented as it’s obviously beneficial to be able to demonstrate you know it’s exact worth. The price of gold is pretty steady at the moment or so I was told a few weeks ago when I had some gold I inherited valued at the pawnbroker where I always get my travel money, just to give me an idea, not selling so never went any further.

Have you thought of going to an auctioneer.
There is no such thing as too much yarn, just not enough time.

I got some very good, straightforward advice here not long ago.

As a matter of interest, do you get a good exchange rate at the pawnbroker?

    Cheers for the advice.
I've emailed the link provided and I will also contact an auctioneer for information and fees .

We don't have paper work but know where it was purchased in Edinburgh in 1915.

    Thanks
