Might as well as they virtually don’t have anything worth paying for. Apparently struggling for subscribers hence why they couldn’t afford to keep La Liga, Serie A & Eredivisie. Also they had won the rights for the UFC but then that fell through and BT retained them.

Anyway the Tiny Superstars are on at the same time. Maybe you got Hertz and Barca mixed up.

Looks like 1 match a week and a weekly highlight show.

When La Liga went to Eleven Sport it effectively allowed Sky to see how much it was really worth. Bottom line was that Sky subscriber base was not effected by not having La Liga, so whilst it is a nice addition to offer customers, from a commercial standpoint it is not worth bidding big money for. Sky pretty much already knew that this was the case and also knew that Elevens business model was "back of a fag packet" stuff.
The problem La Liga has now is that it is massively devalued in the UK/ Ireland and will never see another serious bidding war between Sky and rival company such as BT or Amazon. Meanwhile the league loses the decent exposure it had through Sky, which upsets advertisers, sponsors ect.
Sky played a blinder and hold all the cards here. Fans lose out, but what's new.Last edited by heid the baw; 15-08-2019 at 10:51 PM.

Sid Lowe the Spanish football correspondent said no tv rights agreed for the UK but negotiations still on going but won’t be sorted for this weekend. Also said there has been bids but knocked back as LaLiga don’t think they’re of enough value

For me the epl has two teams that can win it much like the spl and la liga (ironically the worst offender in the past) this season has three.
