Taken from BBC Scotland match report after Blackburn Rovers draw today. Not sure what way to take it - compliment or insult ?
Going back to last season, the likes of when we played Hibs, our mistakes were costly in the league campaign and it was a similar story today. But sometimes you need a setback just so you see the warning signs that people can't get complacent. Today, getting a few setbacks is important because it will give us the kick up the backside we need."

There was a couple of games last season where they dominated big time only for us to clinically snatch a draw. I’m assuming that’s what he means. Not much to do with us, just them throwing victory away.

Probably still going on about Omeonga fouling his player on the edge of our box not getting the award and us scoring from the resulting counter attack 😁

Given that you don't know if it's a compliment or an insult, you must be open to the possibility that it's neither, no?

I respected Steven Gerrard as a sublime quality midfielder
As Manager of The Rangers I do not know if he has been brainwashed but he seems to have bought into the Hun ethos and the world is against us mentality
The number of decisions The Hun got reversed in their favour last season was unreal
Going by his quote he must have loved Dazzas late equalising header at Ibroke last year

Few things on this one:
As 90+2 has said, we were skinned by them twice and snatched draws. He’s not happy about that!
He has neither complimented or insulted us, he’s purely made comments regarding these games.
He’s a winner. Like him or hate him, he’s a winner. Unlike his wee pal Lampard who is a tool.
He will implode when we take them to the cleaners in the coming season.
Bring it on!

His players have been complimentary about us in every post-match interview they have done, so I think he had it drilled into them that we were a decent side.
I think it is a compliment. Against a lot of teams Rangers will get away with not being at their best. Against us and Blackburn, they will not and will need to be more clinical than they have been in order to get a result.

When the story was doing the rounds that they both couldn’t play in the same England midfield, there was one obvious choice to make. It wasn’t the sky kisser.
I don’t think I will find that you are correct in your somewhat direct post, but am happy to beg to differ.

Lampard has won more in his career.
Much more. Three league Titles to zero is the big difference.

- FA Cup: 2006–07, 2008–09, 2009–10, 2011–12

It’s not necessarily about the count, Lampard played in a Chelsea team that was far superior to Liverpool over the same period. The description of Gerrard as a winner was down to his ability to massively influence a game and grab it by the scruff of the neck so to speak, hence the “Gerrard” FA cup final and the CL victory in Istanbul.

Lampard was more of a winner and a more cultured footballer despite what the Slippy cultists repeat ad nauseum. The comment above about him pointing to the sky shows the mindset of these people. They look for something to hate in Lampard but can't find it because he's a gent. Slippy on the other hand was a nasty little thug and a prolific diver.
Lampard ran the midfield everytime he went up against Barcelona at their peak. There isn't a bigger compliment than that.
Oh and he won more......much more.
