    Hibs 21st Century XI

    As polled by the EEN.

    Rocky

    Gray
    Sauzee
    Jones
    Murphy

    Sproule
    Latapy
    McGinn
    Riordan

    Griffiths
    O'Connor

Anyone care to argue with that? As a 4-4-2 I'd struggle to justify changing any of them. I'd probably change to a 4-3-3 though and remove O'Connor for either Boozy, McGeough or Allan.

Sproule wouldn't be anywhere near mine tbh. Cant argue with the others. What a side though.

I'd remove GO'C for Allan. Is it too fickle/generous to add Logan for that semi/final combo - the semi especially - also?

Scott Brown right midfield. Gutted I can’t find a place for John O’Neil.

I rate Anderson as better than Rocky. I'd have De La Cruz in there too.

The other options for the position was Zemmama, Boyle, Wotherspoon or Lovell. Whilst I would probably not have Sproule in my 11, in that formation I would pick him over the others.

I actually forgot all about Brown somehow. I’d stick him in my side ahead of O’Connor. Imagine the energy in there with Brown and McGinn, we’d just over run teams every week

Trying to put aside any Hibs bias, our XI is much better than the Hearts one

Yeah, I'd have Brown at RM.

He'd definitely be on my 21st century bench. Brilliant impact sub. You could actually see the opposition defenders panic when he came on late in the game

    Agree Broony for Sproule

Them were the words GOC said to Mowbray when he got hooked at Ibroke in the 0-3 game

Goc was **** hot leading the line before he went to Russia so it’s a tough one. The McGinn and Brown we had at their best before they moved would be sublime, I would nearly be tempted to drop Deeks for Boozy to give some space and composure on the ball have him and Latapy in the middle.

I would have had Riordan and O'Connor up front together. I think the Evening news messed up having Deeks LM. He was way better in his first spell when he was up front with O'Connor. Those 2 really should have played up front for Scotland together for years.

Im amazed anyone would put De La Cruz in the team. Nice exotic name but he was an absolute bomb scare defending. Good going forward, but he played full back not winger. Picking him before Murphy!?

My mistake, forgot he played on the right. Had tried to erase all his errors from my mind . He would get absolutely slaughtered on here these days. Great bombing down the wing though lol.

His best game and worst game for hibs in one night was 4-4 against Aberdeen at home. Remember that Zeroali who played for died players brilliant for the sheep that night.

I was actually trying to remember who that game was against. Did he not set up most of our goals, but also at fault for theirs lol. Course he scored 2 v Hearts as well. I would have Gray or League Cup era Whittaker before him every time though.

Yeah did Zeroali not wear '0' on his strip. Tragic he died so young.

    Whittaker is a good shout

  31. #30
Also is that really the best eleven Hearts could come up with? We'd smash them with ours
