I didn't fancy him this week as I thought it would all be too much for him.

He occasionally gets into a zone where he is practically unbeatable, and he'll get there again for a major, probably in the US. He's probably still got a good 50+ attempts in him yet, it'll all come together for him again at some point.

Tiger may be finished. His comeback last year, then the win at Augusta seems to have taken an awful lot out of him. He's running out of time and all that grimacing suggests to me his battered body won't take much more.

It looks like the rain is coming in around 10am and will be on for the day. Maybe just buying themselves a couple of hours of extra time in case of any problems, or more so the extra time the players take playing in rain.

I wouldn’t go as far as saying that but the last day was a bit flat to be honest.

It never built to an exciting finish but that was as much to do with the brilliance of Lowry as anything else.

The Irish certainly embrace the game of golf which seems to be booming across there. Sadly the same thing cant be said about Scottish golf at present.

I thought it was a fantastic Open, but obviously Lowry's form robbed it of the last day drama which characterises classic tournaments. An Irishman winning it over there though - sheer magic.

Totally down to the conditions imo. Kind of ruled out a player putting a run together. Lowry managed it brilliantly though.

It was a bit dull as a spectacle by today. Lowry had done enough to get his big lead and nobody broke from the pack so it was a dull finish.

I loved the Thursday and Friday though, and really liked the course.

My tip for the Masters, Shane Lowry, didn’t come anywhere close. He will be my outside bet for the Open.
