It's also notable that despite an excellent season and a first home European tie for ages, Kilmarnock had an attendance of THREE THOUSAND at Rugby Park last night.

Killie were always the most likely side to **** up early doors. They are in for a real struggle this season imo.
I'm not too downhearted though. Aberdeen, Celtic and Rangers all progressed with relative ease. Add to that last year we had a decent run, relatively speaking, Rangers reached the group stages, Celtic progressed from their Europa League group and Aberdeen put in a decent performance over 2 legs against an EPL side.
It's an embarrassing result for Killie and in turn Scottish football but overall the last couple of seasons has seen our European performances take a small step forward. It wasn't so long ago that Celtic were going it alone after only 1 round of matches.

I saw talk around Killie on FB mentioning an embarrassing result. I honestly thought it meant they had squeaked through, never in my wildest dreams did I think they had been put out. It doesn't matter which way you slice it, what an embarrassment for Killie and for Scottish football. I usually look for mitigating circumstances and any excuse I can find to put a less negative spin on bad results for Scottish teams in Europe.
Not this time … that's a shocker and there's simply no excuse for it … embarrassing for our game simple as that.

Killie are a tinpot club who have overachieved for 18 months due to a decent manager. Some of their fans taking it so badly they accuse anyone winding them up of perpetuating the old firm duopoly! They are due a relegation and won’t be any great loss.

Really can't work out if I want Aberdeen to go through. I agree that it would be good for our co-efficient but don't want them to get more money. McInnes said that if they go through they will get another defender.
Could cost us a league place.
Whatever happens to them I want Sevco to lose by more than 2 goals.

300 Killie fans out in Belgrade just now. Booked before the 2ns leg against Connah’s Quay
Seemingly hiring a boat for a booze cruise today

Before start of play today Scotland had gathered more UEFA coefficient points than any other country.
We are currently in 19th place having overtaken Switzerland and are now only 0.375 of a point behind Serbia who are down to 2 of their 4 teams still standing and only a further 0.125 of a point behind Croatia. Wins tonight for Aberdeen and Rangers would be worth 0.5 of a point.Last edited by CMurdoch; 01-08-2019 at 07:00 PM.
