Seeing the draw coming out today reminds me how much I want European football every season. Still never been to an away game and a couple of great trips there.

That article says: "Fears that Rangers supporters would wreck the gaff as soon as they touched down on Irish soil had led Shelbourne to relinquish home advantage. Bizarrely, they had to play their home leg in Prenton Park."
But the way I heard it told from one of the people who had a hand in the decision to move the game was this: Shels acknowledged that both sets of fans couldn't share their stadium, offered all the seats to Rangers (to charge more in ticket fees and make more money), but the British Embassy in Dublin strongly advised authorities this would not be sensible and helped find another stadium from which to host the game.
