The older you are, the harder it is to answer the question. So, with a bit of poetic licence, a slightly different slant from me to cover the 6 decades I’ve been a Hibby. Could give 5 or 6 lists with completely different names each time for each decade but to answer the thread heading(almost)? Here we go:
60s - Pat Stanton
70s - Joe Baker
80s - John Collins
90s - Russell Latapy
00s - Derek Riordan
10s - Leigh Griffiths

Sir David Gray *
*Sir David is not there as a ‘top’ player. There are many better footballers who could be on the list. He’s there because he’s by far my favourite ever Hibs player, for obvious reasons.

I can’t do five, I just can’t. Boyhood heroes to hero worship,at an age I should know better.
Stanton, Brownlie, Edwards, Blackley, O’Rourke, Duncan. Big leap to Ally McLeod, Gordon Rae, Collins, Mickey Weir, Geebsie, Keith, Darren Jackson, McGinlay, Sauzee Latapy, Mixu, Boozy, Thomson, Brown, Murphy, Ivan. And the entire 2016 squad.
Feels dirty to leave any of them out.

That is tough. I'm going for maybe not the best but, great players and heroes of mine too.
Des Bremner. Huge hole in the team when he left
Ally McLeod. What a talent. Casual as you like and 99 goals in pretty poor teams
John Collins. Great player who was great to watch and gave Hibs an extra 2 years when he could have left sooner
John McGinn. My son cried when he left and I wasn't far off it. Watch Villa games regularly now and cheer him on as if he was still at Hibs. Made an impact that I can't remember many others making
Arthur Duncan. Record appearances and tried his heart out in every game. Took some abuse later on at the end of his time with Hibs but tried 100% none the less. I met him a load of time as well as he was a pal of a pal of my uncles.
So many to choose from and it is tough to get to 5. Honourable mentions for Keith, Pat McGinley, Deek, Le God, Latapy, Brown, Archigoal, Gordon Rae, Roughie, Hiram, Mitchell and numerous others.
Did I just cheat there and name about 20??

Like a few others on here I've been watching Hibs too long to keep it to just 5 so here we go:
1960s - Pat Stanton. My first sporting hero and the greatest Hibs player of all time
1970s - Alan Gordon/Jimmy O'Rourke
1980s - Steve Archibald
1990s - Franck Sauzee
2000s - Russel Latapy
2010s - John McGinn
Sorry but I just can't choose between O'Rourke and Gordon from the Tornadoes team.
