Hopefully we got our money up front. Seemingly they’ve been proven to be a cryptocurrency scam website, and are going bust.
Feel for any fan who invested. The club MUST keep away from this NFT/Crypto nonsense.

Embarrassing that we entered into partnership with them. Shocking call from whoever made that deal.
But agree, feel for the fans who bought into it, especially when things are as tight as they are.

We should've binned this partnership when their army of bots replied to the twitter post. The red flags were unbelievable. Can't say I have much sympathy actually, it was so obviously dodgy. Hopefully no one put much into it.

I’m glad we’ve not pushed the partnership on socials or in the ground much recently. If reports are true however, I would hope they’ll be off our shirts and out the ground for the weekend.

I think this will be a lesson for all clubs, not just us. There's a good few that's signed up with them and I think for now on we should realise Crypto/NFT sponsors probably not always the safest way to go.

It was blindingly obvious it was dodgy from day one.
The leaked WhatsApp message and the Twitter bots were massive red flags. I think the majority of fans realised it too as the uptake was almost non existent.PM Awards General Poster of The Year 2015, 2016, 2017. Probably robbed in other years

Depressingly, it seems the league have decided on a new NFT sponsorship for the full league. It’s making the headlines because the Huns are refusing to endorse it as they also have a partnership with Sportemon Go. Interesting that we didn’t make any noise about it.

What's happened anyway? Hard to read through the jargon and 'what a surprise' reaction to find actual details.

Tbh the whole launch was so amateurish that I could almost have believed it was legit. Good scammers are usually pretty polished.PM Awards General Poster of The Year 2015, 2016, 2017. Probably robbed in other years

Is there a link or source for them going bust? Can’t see anything. Not that I would lose any sleep over it. I’m sure there was a thread earlier that any hibs fans money was refunded with a promise to launch a new coin later on.

Really hoping all of our fans proved to be a bit more streetwise than our commercial team over this and gave it a wide berth and that nobody has lost money as a consequence. It was screaming “scam” from the get-go.

Said it privately from the start that it seemed with this partnership in particular, we were just taking money from anything and everything with a view to growing the club commercially.
An absolute ****show and heads should roll for this, as there will be Hibs fans that decided to enter into whatever it was.

Huns are demanding resignations from their board, and tbh, whoever sanctioned this for Hibs really has to have a big think about what they were playing at.

Not sure what part Kensell would have played in it but after a similar episode at Norwich you would have thought we would be a lot more careful around these things.

It wasn't a great sign when the club were having to put out comms to explain how it worked and asserting that it wasn't a scam.
Few folks were saying at the time, 'how is it any worse than X, Y, or Z?', I think we have our answer. Unregulated mess of an industry that we should never have been involved with.
Highly doubt we got our payment up front either. That's not usually how it works, let alone with a bunch of scammers.Last edited by Vault Boy; 02-05-2022 at 08:04 PM.

We've signed a deal with this mob, going by their website/twitter.
Fantasy football with more NFT cards - great.

Was dodgy from the get go, as an ‘industry’ this is very much par for the course.

Was this a kensell deal or was it done before him? Shades of that porno betting sponsorship deal he signed for Norwich before fan uproar made them rip up the contract.

First time reading this thread. Absolutely mental for an auld yin like masel. Sounds like the club went into it with good faith as the digital world seems to be the way of the future world but is in its infancy and prone to fraudsters and con artists.

I see Sportemon Go's Twitter account has been reactivated and they tweeted this a few hours ago.
The SGOX Token has ceased trading. The community voted unanimously to redeem SGOX for L1TF token.
For further partner and token information or information on how to redeem tokens please email: admin@sportemongo.com

Wow, I could never have told you that was coming.
Hopefully this signals to whoever is in charge of partnerships that NFTs and crypto shouldn't be touched with a ****ing bargepole. An embarrassment that we went with this in the beginning.
