    Scottish Youth Cup Final

Celtic v Rangers live on BBC Scotland Channel tonight, 7.05pm KO
It’s for players born in 2001 and later. Hibs knocked Hearts out, but lost to a strong Queens Park team

It’s at a Hampden, but only relatives and guests allowed in, think there was some trouble at a previous Youth game at Hampden between them

How embarrassing is that. Think there was trouble at more than one game between the two in the last couple of years.

Won’t be surprised if a couple of numpties still made their way into the ground. You can’t tell who is a family relative/guest. They could easily say I’m xxxxx cousin or xxxxx best mate from school. How will the stewards know?

I was at the Hibs / Hearts u18/17? Game last night. Hibs got a player sent off first half for hand ball but still could have won it in the second half. Went down 2-1. A of standouts in both teams. Hearts to their credit had a couple go 14yo in their team! John Rankin taking the Hearts team....you could have heard him in Portobello tbh!

I’m guessing the family and guests will have been given tickets

It’s not the first Old Firm Youth fixture to have limited supporter access since some disorder a couple of years ago. A sad indictment on Scottish Football, or rather, a sad indictment for football in the west of Scotland.

I have a guy working for me just now. His kid trains with hibs, hearts and rangers. Seemingly has a big future as all 3 want to sign him. The family are big jambos, but the dad has said they all favour him signing for rangers as they have the best facilities and look after the kids the best. Hibs are in second position due to the history with bringing kids through and hearts have no chance seemingly.

Depressing that a boy from Edinburgh will choose to join Rangers. I questioned why, as I would’ve thought the hibs facilities would be up there but seemingly rangers are just next level.

Perhaps Ranges “look after”the parents best.

Sure both sets of fans wrecked firhill and since then all youth games between the sides in finals have been behind closed doors

Possibly. He said hearts were too strict. Hibs were very laid back and one of the positives for rangers were that they fed the kids after training before sending them home.

What age is he, and which town does he live in. It’s a long trek to Rangers training ground from Edinburgh

My Nephew trained with hibs and rangers, he lived in Stow at the time. Rangers showed more interest in him whereas at hibs he didnt feel wanted and was seen as just a number. He ended up at Edinburgh City then found girlfriends, beer and fast cars 🙄

Ps - he was with a very successful Tynecastle team at the time and turned down the chance to train with hearts 😆🇳🇬

Couple of players as well to watch out for tonight
    Celtic
Oko-Flex, Irish boy Celtic signed from Arsenal, think he’s only 17

    Rangers
Josh McPake, think this is the lad Hibs lost to Rangers a few years ago. They regards him as a hot prospect

Read in the bbc gossip column that one of the Celtic youth players is wanted by a club in the German Bundesliga (think it is Hoffenheim, might be wrong). First thoughts were thinking it was Dembele but wasn’t. Someone called Morrison? Unsure if he is playing.

I was thinking about that when I first read about the interest from Hoffenheim. Hamburg took Bates from Sevco, now Hoffenheim want Morrison. We Hibees all hold Porteous in high regard but it's other players who are sought after. Are we guilty of wearing green coloured glasses when we are measuring the potential of our young players?

The Rangers number 9 looks like Sideshow Bob from the Simpsons
