I just read in the Metro that not only did Cureton reach 1,000 senior apperences at the weekend but he also scored a double for Bishops Sortford. All at the age of 43.
What was the craic with him? How close was he to signing for us?

Strangely enough,i was on that bus.
The driver alerted us by saying "Guess who just got on the bus?
In fact he was on the wrong bus.
Intended to get the Tranent 26 bus but got on the Seton Sands one.
He got off at Scotties.

I’m sure Bobby wanted to sign him but he ended up going to China possibly. Then he started tearing it up down south on return.

I'm pretty sure it was in the summer of 2000 when we sold Kenny Miller, and Cureton ended up signing for Reading.

Cureton was a McLeish target around the time of Lovell signing.
No idea why we never got him as we were paying decent greenbacks at the time.
Could he still do a job for us?
