Yep, been doing the rounds for few weeks now, as Becky signed him for Barnsley. Perhaps didn't make myself clear, any new rumours. But thanks for your reply anyway.

What's happened to the young NZ right back Andrew Blake, is he being kept on or let go, I understood he was a fairly decent prospect.

Ta, thought we have needed more a leftie to challenge Paul Hanlon

I thought that originally too but with McGregor getting older and Ambrose not really replaced I suppose it kind of makes sense and the boy is highly rated - just can’t get games ahead of Liam Lindsey who is expected to go for big ££ at some point.

Can he play right back too?

I liked Barker but think he is one of them now he’s left that is overrated.

He could do some very good things but his end product and decision making were poor a lot of the time.

He flattered to deceive a lot however near the end of the season his form seemed to pick up and he got a couple of goals and assists.

Funny when you compare him to Horgan (who doesn’t seem to get much credit) Horgan stars are quite a bit better.

    Horgan
    Goals - 7
    Assists - 7
    Games - 35

    Barker
    Goals - 2
    Assists - 4
    Games - 29

Now I really do like Barker, he has great pace and close control, he can beat a man like he’s not even there. His injuries worry me though as he missed a fair chunk of the season with us and again this season with Preston.

All that said would I take him back? Absolutely. But the deal needs to be right.
How many minutes on the pitch did Barker have in those games though?
Horgan starts where as Barker was usually a sub?

Barker was a starter to begin with, only a sub when he was coming back from injuries. Horgan was also in and out the team quite a bit under Lennon and seems to always be on that gets subbed on 60-70 minutes

    Horgan started 6 more games.

Barker was excellent at taking the ball from deep and using his pace, trickery and balance to get us up the park and into more advanced positions. Not as memorable as an assist or goal but vital in keeping us on the front foot. We've really lacked that this season IMO, particularly with Boyle out.

This thread must be 80% about Brandon Barker

Thing is he never ran in behind. He insisted on taking it short always. Boyle can do both despite not being quite as good with the ball.

Is there an actual chance barker returning or is it all wishful thinking posts?

Jimmy McNulty tweeted earlier "It's now confirmed". A cryptic tweet about Mark?

    Lennon getting the Celtic job.

I thought that Dan Butler for Newport County yesterday looked a decent left back, got forward well.

Crazy! I was going to post the exact same! 😉Thought he was Newport’s best player and wouldn’t mind him if we bought him. Then again, he’d only be warming the bench as Stevenson ain’t going to be benched 😁

Read that yesterday and wasn't sure how it improved our chances? Reading not looking likely to be loaning him out and would probably want a fee. Not sure we could afford the fee and wages
McNulty just knocks back offers from other Clubs and by end of June they will just want some money and him off the wage Bill is the answer But we will have to pay something
It will also depend on who else they move on and money they get for them ie by end of June they may not need a big transfer fee as his wages need freed up to pay another player

Did we not try quite hard to get McNulty permanently in January? Sure there were rumours of a few decent bids getting knocked back. I’m sure, going by what he’s said, he’ll be satisfied with whatever wage we can offer. All depends on getting an agreement with Reading.

    Reading: We want £1 million
    Hibs: How about 200k
    Reading: No

    Later...
Reading: OK we need the money now so we'll take 750k
    Hibs: How about 250k
    Reading: No
Random League One club: Hi we don't really need him but could do with squad depth and 750k is peanuts
    Reading: Sold!

Hopefully there's no further interest in him.

Marc is on holiday so dont get tio excited. Remember the McNulty's are huge Tim's so more likely his comment is about Lennon

  25. #1134
Our ability to stump up for McNulty may depend on Villa getting promotion.

Haha, according to Transfermarkt his contract is up this summer.

I would be delighted with McNulty back. His finishing with Scott Allan's service would mix like rum and coke (or any cocktail of your choice)

  28. #1137
Does anyone know when the squad is due back to start pre-season. I don't expect any movement in the transfer market for us until then. Oh is there any news about the managers post at Middlesbrough
