Disappointed that Omeonga won't be coming back.

Murray has been performing well in pre-season so a good opportunity for him to kick-on and nail down a place in the team and I imagine we will dip into the loan market for a defensive midfielder once the Premiership & Championship transfer window closes to give us cover and options.

I’m pretty sure that people have said that you can’t fit Mallan and any other midfielder mentioned in to the same team at some point on here.

The latter, is played as an attacking midfielder. Could be wrong but doesn’t look like he has the physicality to run the midfield box to box, not yet anyway.

What would change would be the license to broadcast in an Indy Scotland and the retention of funds currently syphoned off by the BBC to pay for rights to sports we have no interest in.

Imagine SKY, Virgin, BT etc being told that their broadcast rights into Scotland would be regulated in relation to the revenue they raised. Investment would improve in Scottish sport not just football.

So why is our current deal one of the worst in Europe ?

What about the Irish and Welsh leagues and all the regalia coverage they get on BT / Sky / BBC etc ?

Market forces, essentially.

We are in a unique situation compared to other similarly sized leagues, in that we are in the same broadcast market as one of the giants.

An Indy Scotland with its own broadcast market would be able to treat English Premier League rights like other nations do, much cheaper than the current situation were our broadcasters are the same as England’s, paying the billion quid plus.

Would that mean there’d be more money to pay for Scottish League rights? Unknown, ultimately it would come down to how many people in Scotland were willing to pay to see it. I’m not convinced there’s some big pot of money being siphoned away from our game however.

Because we dont control the media licensing regulations. Quite simple. Norway, Denmark, Belgium, Netherlands etc control their broadcast media. We dont so we are ignored.

That is bad news,this was a player that was very good and would only have gotten better,think Hibs have missed out big time on this. IMHO

I'm going to come in for stick but I'm not to bothered by Omeonga. He was a tidy player no doubt but I don't know if he was worth the wait to get on loan or potential value if we were to buy outright. This could be a breakout season for Campbell who from what I've seen is raw but has great potential. Only way to get better is to play and I hope him and Murray can come and make a impact on the first team

Agree with this too...dont think Omeonga was as brilliant as some make out tbh...I feel the same about McNulty too tbh

Because Mallan can't or won't put the hard yards in when it matters. No way on earth you can play him in a central 2 and if you are playing him in a 3 he still needs someone to do the donkey work for him.
