Still maintain Hecky has been telling players to go easy, build up fitness no injuries etc
Will be a different team come St Midden game
We will then have a consolidated team by Christmas when we will add a couple of players to fill any perceived weaknesess
Be Happy

Bad result today and we are out the cup. Reality.
Arbroath 6 Stirling 1
Hibs 1 Stirling 1
Reality.
We need these new boys to show up today
That is what you just read.
Happy to help & hope we get back to winning ways today.

I too would like to see a good performance - from the whole team not just the new lads.
I get that it is early days but at our level, compared to the teams we're playing, we have to be ready to go. Certainly we have to be ready to give a reaction to a somewhat negative previous result.
It isn't going to define our season so it isn't big in those terms. It just feels like a good game for us to show something - as the poster was saying.
Here is hoping.

I think Killie will be poor this season, think they will drop out the top 6 and Motherwell will finish in the top 6, think they have signed quite well so far.

FWIW I highly doubt PH has told them to take it easy - I'd be disappointed if he had.
I suspect the closest it would come to that is him being not upset after they game if they had eased off in the second half having established a 3 goal cushion in the first.
Not having a pop at you or anyone else for that matter but it worries me that these LC games would be taken lightly or as an exercise in gaining match fitness either by fans, manager or players.
a) it's a trophy we can win b) it's momentum - we don't get anything for thumping teams in this 6-0 but it puts confidence throughout the team.
A slow start and downing tools at the end are not the way to challenge for top 4 and Europe.

Other than the OF. our peers over that period Aberdeen, Hearts & Dundee United like us have all seen their fair share of boom or bust.
That's the nature of the game in Scotland.
The possible exception being Aberdeen of late but they have won nothing, bottle out at every final hurdle and I would rather stick knitting needles in my eyes than watch them week in week out.
IMO you are having a pop for having a pop's sake and trying to justify doing so after the event.
Come back to me after the first round of SPL fixtures and let's see where we are.
Right now everything is worthless speculation.
Maybe there will be some superstars waiting to bud or more likely the sum of the whole will be greater than its individual components.
I seriously doubt folk questioning what we done so far in the market is going to cause any sort of revision in our plans for the rest of the window.

My point was simply that after a few games now I haven't seen anybody say anything along the lines of ... 'wow, that ( insert name ) looks a real player' The best I can recall is 'aye he did ok' stuff like that.
Unfortunately I wont be there today, one of about 5 home games I will have missed in 20 years or more, but I'm hoping we will put in a cohesive and dominating performance with signs that we are on the way to clicking as a team.

Not sure there is a book open already for first manager to get punted but the Killie manager may be a good bet. I was talking to someone who's company has a sponsorship deal with them and he was saying the players are far from happy with things and a Stubbs like exit could be in the cards.

Although I can’t see it, does anyone think that we might be in for Stevie May?

Stevie May hasn't had the best of times with Aberdeen but the quality is there and he could easily step up again with us.
