As heckys said he only wants players who want to be here. Good luck to him but I'm only interested in guys who sign for us. Im sure Hecky has other targets. Most likely be announced without anybody knowing like some of the other signings. Time will tell if is a good player. Not convinced by the dons signings and I think it will be a real battle for third.
Shinnie and Mackay-Stevens will be huge losses for them.

Guys he rejected Aberdeen last night. That means Europe, the club etc all that never mattered to him.

An improves offer went in today and he took it.

    Its money.

They have more of it than us.
Not sure it's all about money. I'm sure Hecky could have matched the dons wages if he wanted. If that was the case players would hold out for a lot longer to see if they could get bigger wages. Could be the agent has made the dons pay well over the odds for a player relegated with s****horpe. Time will tell but guys who looked like they were going to one club and switch at the last minute don't have a great record of being good signings. IMHO of course.

Clutching at straws doesn't help, lets just say ta ta and move on to our next target.
Clutching 🤣 I really don't care if he goes to Aberdeen. I wouldn't want Hibs to waste money on a player that has issues.

FWIW I think if Hecky really wanted this player then we would sign him.

The level Hibs, Aberdeen etc are at wages wise means anything from £100 to £1k pw difference offered is a hell of a lot of money irrespective of location and facilities at club.

    I think it would

Against the likes of St Mirren, Hamilton etc, but playing that midfield 3 against a Celtic or Rangers, I’m not so sure as we would get overrun. We would need a combative midfielder that does the dirty work in there and that would allow the likes of Scott Allan to do what they are good at.

Got to look at it from a neutral point of view, if you had no emotional connection between two teams and one of them offers you an extra £500 a week alongside the opportunity of playing in the Europa League you would probably take that offer.

I doubted Omeonga’s physical ability at some points last season but I think he has the potential to be fantastic in that role, still young and learning

GMS barely kicked a ball for them second half of the season however shinnie is a big miss.

Bryson, Ojo and Hedges are all good signings on paper at least. Main isn’t a goal scorer but is handy and will suit there style of play to a tee.

    ..............................Lewis............... ...

    Logan.....Devlin/Taylor.....McKenna.....Leigh/Considine

    ............Ferguson.......Ovo........Bryson...... ...

    Gallagher/Mclennan/Wright.................................Hedges/McGinn

    ............................Wilson/ Cosgrove/Main...........

Thats a strong team. It may not be pretty it times but it’s solid defensively and has plenty attacking options.

See I look at that Aberdeen team and think for all the financial power they supposedly have it isn’t that great.

Love it. We'll not come to regret this one. He is 27 and at a club like S****horpe for a reason.

So you’re saying it’s a mistake bidding £150k for the player in the first place and it would be a waste of money?

  18. #6167
Taking the time to read over how Ojo's behaved since the end of last season I'd rather we moved on and tried to bring back Omeonga.

Reading about Ojo brings back too many flashbacks of time under Fenlon and co when we had players turning up for a pay check and not giving one flying F on the pitch.

Not doubting the guy is a good footballer and the type we need in centre mid, but his attitude and behaviour puts me right off him.

I think individually you’re right, but McInnes has them playing as a team which suits them to a tee with all them knowing there roles.

Thats what excited me about Heckingbottom, I think with a organisation and buying players to suit the team you can really progress in this league.

Kilmarnock are the same, flair players in the right areas but solid as a team.

Yes. We originally thought we could sign him for free. People are acting like we've missed out on some top player to Aberdeen. There will be better out there. I am not excited by a player who won't develop further.

You reckon a Mallan, Omeonga & Allan midfield would work?
I'd be happy with that with Horgan and Boyle either side.

Aberdeen had one style last season. Punt it to the strong forward and if you’ve not got the ball boot the opposition until you’ve got it back.

I think when we get another 2 or 3 in we should be able to more than match that Aberdeen team

We had a stronger team under Lennon than that in our first season back in the premiership with a much lower budget at the time.

Have all our signings that have been made all guys at higher level clubs?

  28. #6177
Look this guy downed tools when he didn’t get his own way. We don’t need players like that.

Aberdeen are welcome to him as he will do the same again when he wants another move. It’s s transfer fee we don’t need to pay.

I’m sure he will get a warm welcome when he comes to Easter road.

I am guessing he means that if we wanted to push the boat out further to match Aberdeen’s wages we’d have been able to do so but Hecky has chosen not too.

    May work both ways.

Has a very good season and interest comes in from the likes of Sevco/English championship teams next summer, he may end up behaving the way he done this summer at s****thorpe, we’d probably would be glad that we don’t have that sort of character in the team that thinks he’s bigger than the club and showing disrespect to the manager, players and fans.

If he turns out crap, we will of course have the last laugh.

I think he did until Ojo went back on his word for an extra few quid. What I’m trying to say is that if Hecky deemed him as a top target then we would have matched whatever Aberdeen are offering.
