St Kilda hammered Hawthorn. Superb performance from such an unpredictable team.

St Kilda beat Gold Coast 63-54. The season mightn't be dead yet.

The Aussie rules players absolutely love a moustache. There’s some crackers on show in this game.

I came down to the GC for the game... the moustaches are probably the most entertaining thing on show.

St Kilda completely destroyed by Western Bulldogs, losing by 111 points. Another shambles.

Especially after Freo's last 2 wins. The Dockers are having an amazing season and I can't wear my hoodie out here in the Midlands in case people think I'm celebrating auld Lizzie.

I’m not sure where to start Goal between the middle sticks 6 points one between the outer ones 1 point. What’s it called?

Yeah middle sticks is 6, the other side is 1. A big contingent of the rugby league crowd say “you get a point for missing” and I thought that when I first moved over; but those odd points create some of the best finishes in sport.

What’s a foul and what’s not? In general it seems an absolute free for all but just seen someone penalised for a simple push?

Also finding odd the officials take the throw ins and kick offs or whatever they’re called. Incessant official whistling too. For what?

Was at Sydney Cricket Ground for my first AFL match a week past Friday for Sydney Swans v Collingwood Pies, was a an excellent experience. I had never watched any Aussie Rules before and was clueless of the rules but it was very easy to pick up and was able to follow by the end of Q1. We got really lucky with the match as it ended with a Swans win and was end to end until the last kick, will definitely be attending another game when I get back out to Sydney.

Semi final time in the AFL. Port Adelaide host Hawthorn and the GWS Giants host my team, the Brisbane Lions. Hoping the Lions can go one better than last years final heartbreak.
