Haha what a great chant that was. Just had a memory flash of Craig Levien lobbing the ball over Henry for an og at the gorgie road end must have been way back when? Anyone remember that? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

The more players he keeps the less he can bring in and contracted players tend to sit tight.
Earlier in the month folk on here were moaning about the number of loan players at the club. The advantage of loans over contracted players will play out for the club at the end of the season and may save McGregor and Gray, by providing the necessary wriggle room for the new manager to bring in players that he believes he needs to improve the team. It will be certainly be interesting to see what happens.Last edited by CMurdoch; 14-02-2019 at 02:51 PM.

Has he come in as a "Manager" or a "Head Coach"? Given statements about a good fit with the structure I assume the latter and that whilst he will have input into who we pursue as signings it is likely the vast majority of candidates will be those identified through George Craigs department at the club and he'll be given some sort of veto over who comes in, though not necessarily who leaves.

He will tell George's team which player or what type of player he wants.
They will do the leg work and then come back to the manager with information or a list of players who fit the criteria.
Once he has decided who he wants he will go to Leanne and she will say yes or no based on the case he makes and the cost.
He will know his budget and will know how many players he wants and will then have to wheel and deal to get close to the team he wants.

I can remember when Partick Thistle had Issac English and Gerry Britton playing for them and Hibs had Brian Welsh. Dunfermline had Hamish French. They were all Scottish.

Then didn't play him.
Think he was even struggling to get in the match day squad before Christmas

Heckenbottom signed them both for Barnsley in summer of 2017 from Scottish Clubs where they had both been doing well.
Being a small club Barnsley would have IMO been looking for both to quickly make their mark in the 1st team.
As it turned out Lindsay was an almost ever present in the 2017/18 season and was voted the Barnsley players, player of the season and Mallan barely kicked a ball.
As a result we were able to get our hands on Mallan.
Don't know if he will be feeling positive about Heckenbottom being his boss again.
I hope you are right and Mallan can develop and improve at Hibs.Last edited by CMurdoch; 15-02-2019 at 12:59 AM.

Tin hat firmly on here. Individually we have a good defence on paper but as a unit the last 6 months ( my personal view ) they don’t seem to work as a unit. They seldom come out in a straight line and catch teams offside, more often than not there’s one of them playing someone onside. Some of the goals conceded have been rather easily scored.
SDG:-Been outstanding for Hibs but been injured a lot.
LS :- Solid pro and been a great servant to Hibs.
PH:- Was being quoted by some for a call up but since coming back from injury has been not the same player.
Milligan:- Solid pro looked better since coming back from international games.
Port:- Out rest of the season and a great long term prospect.
SMac:- Another good prospect who has looked good since breaking through.
Whitt’s:- Sold pro great career but not the youngest and probably a squad filler at best now.
The problem I think we have is we are predictable and don’t have the squad to shake the defence up which allows players to be complacent knowing there’s no one there to take there jersey and allows other teams to target individual players as week links as they see them.
I’m sure a few on here will disagree with me and that’s good as it’s all about opinions but if we do keep the players who’s contracts are running out they have to practice as a unit.
On about units, throw ins will need to practiced a hell of a lot.

One things for sure, he’s going to have Scott Allan available next season and I guarantee he will be creaming himself when he finds out exactly what type of player he is and how he changes our team. That I have no doubt. If scotty enjoys playing for this guy and the other players also it could be the signing of the century.

Just a centre back, midfielder and striker, please. Gauld (if he stays) and Allan will be excellent together and solve the problem of creativity in midfield. Lennon did excellent work there before it ended; now PH needs to address our other obvious flaws.
