Did someone get hospitalised after one of their spicy curry challenges, or is that a myth?

Yes, two people required hospital treatment, one of whom went twice.

This followed the restaurant's annual hot curry competition. A disclaimer had to be signed and there were medical staff at hand too.

The incident reached the national press but I believe is no longer held.

    Closed some weeks ago.

The Indian restaurant that's there now, Kuma???????, looks similar but it's different folk running it.

I used to love a good Indian but, maybe because of the spices, it always made me go a bit raj.

My favourite dishes have changed as I have got older or maybe wiser 😁
In my twenties it was Phaal or Vindaloos and copious amounts of lager. Now I prefer to appreciate the flavours of milder dishes and love a tandoori mixed grill. Keema naan everytime though.

A regular large group of us go to the Guru but for nearer to home I canít see past the Eastern Pavilion in Corstorphine.
Eastern Pav very good. Also Spice Lounge Kitchen is good and very comfy. Fine pint of Guinness too!

On infirmary Street? Top notch, really good. Tapas style Indian is a great combo. 2 dishes each, 1 rice and 1 naan. Job's a good one.

    Really good.

I tend to judge Indians by their fish pakora as it's really hard to get right. Mother India's is spot on as is the rest of their menu.
