    Dirty Leeds

Leeds sent a spy to Derby's training ground and they ended up getting lifted.

    Ooft, that's embarrassing.

What's the betting he says he went there on his own volition.

On the bright side 2 defeats in a row suggests their now annual implosion has started early this year.

wee soft spot for Leeds since the 70s when they had mostly Scottish players. mind getting the old Admiral white top with the blue and yellow vertical stripe down the front. The height of fashion back in the day.

I think you're right. Id also imagine youd have to stay a long time to really understand the teams planned tactics.

I remember a few years ago, we were due to play St Johnstone at Tynecastle in the League Cup semi on the Saturday
On the Friday I was at a funeral in Perth, and went back to McDairmid Park for the the after gathering. Walked through a door and Saints were practicing corners etc, set plays. As soon as someone saw me I was ushered back inside. But anyone could have looked in from the corners to see what they were doing

Probably more to see team shaping and who will be in starting 11, most clubs will have the starting 11 against another 11 day before a game, might get to see that and any set pieces they might do.

Is this sort of thing against the rules though? I can imagine it must happen to a lot of teams, but never seen any caught!

You have got to be kidding. Team of absolute cloggers however who were also an amazing team in the 70s under Revie.

Cloggers? Like Giles and Eddie Gray? Like Lorimer and Allan Clarke?

They had two, maybe three, very uncompromising defenders, that's all.

Doesn't make the whole team 'dirty".

And, you're dead right, they were an amazing team under Revie.

Giles was one of the dirtiest players in the league. Cloggers like Madelely, Reaney, Bremner, Hunter, Charlton, Giles, Jones in fact through them all in they all could kick.

Watch the replay of the Chelsea Leeds cup final.

Did Leeds not use dirty tactics to knock Hibs out Europe during the era they were dominating English football? Before my time but sure my old man said they were up to no good during the game?

Probably not against the rules of football as such , more a criminal offence of trespassing id say.

    Thank you

That's what I was trying to say.

It's an urban myth that the brilliant Leeds team were dirty back then.

Folk. Jumping. Bandwagons, all spring to mind.

They were a great side but they definitely weren't shy in puting the boot in if necessary, sometimes when not! I think that Revies, and the players, win at all costs attitude and the bribery accusations are what some folk still remember
