Excellent. That's a good one to win. I'll be there for their Seniors Open next month.
I played their duffers last month. It’s in its usual excellent nick. Enjoy.
We are off to Dundonald the end of the month. First time. Looking forward to it.

I'm watching the US Open, my cash is on Justin Rose but as I've had more than a few drams today I suspect I'll not be seeing much more of today's play.

Woodland was imperturbable and with a birdie to finish. He's not unlike his main challenger Koepka in temperament.
Golf is going through a purple patch at the moment.

Does anyone else use the Teeofftimes/Golf now app?

Some great courses at bargain prices but it seems a bit Uberish, i.e. too good to be true. They take 20% of every sale plus £1 and the growth of apps like this can surely only lead to less paying members at clubs.

I used it to get a game at Cardrona a few weeks back. Surely they can only sell the times the clubs allow them to?

    ie. Otherwise unused times
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, vodka in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, "WOO HOO what a ride!"

They get limited times at each club. It’s tied in with HowDidiDo/V1 and the brs booking systems. The companies are all linked. The clubs get cheaper install/maintenance and running costs in return. Great news for nomad golfers.

    And you, sir.

Suffering from the 2 rounds just now right enough - sunburn on the back of both legs, my face, and I ache from pushing a dodgy trolley around for 2 rounds (over 12 miles!).

Paul Heckingbottom was playing in the pro/am down at The Renaissance today - wasn’t aware he was a golfer. Going by this comfortable and composed looking picture he might be a decent player?

The Renaissance is kind of getting ripped apart. I suppose it’s what the players who are in The Open like the week before - not too challenging and and a chance to card a few birdies to get the confidence going. Can remember them complaining about how tough Royal Aberdeen was a few years back and how it was a severe a test before the Open.

Was there today. A very confusing layout for spectators. Not a links course so no real prep for the Open. The type if place that kowtows to the caricature of golf - exclusively for the ultra wealthy that won't let ordinary players sully the course. Gullane last year a much better venue.

I intended to go yesterday but the Met Office weather forecast put me off and I guess thousands of others. The tournament organisers would not be best pleased and who can blame them.

Really looking forward to tonight’s WGC final round from Memphis. McIlroy and Koepka going head to head and some decent players tucked in behind. If McIlroy plays like he did yesterday he’s untouchable.

Rory struggling so far but its early days. He seems to be tugging his shots left.

His driving has been immense, but there's something not right with his approach play.

He's only a couple behind so if he makes a tweak he's not far off, but Koepka looks like he's cruising right now.

Yip, by his standards his putting was poor last week otherwise he'd have been right in there.

As an aside. I played Crieff today for the first time. Nice course. At 6500ish yards not too easy but fairly enjoyable. Definitely worth a visit and I shall return.
