The difference between defences in Scotland and Australia was on full display when Roy O’Donovan scored against WSW for Newcastle Jets a few minutes ago.

The ball was played into him and his first touch 16 yards out saw the ball bounce about a foot to his left, yet he was able to slowly reposition his body and side foot the ball high into the net while two defenders stand watching from 4 or 5 yards away.

If that had been Scotland he would have been blocked or tackled and the chance lost.

Got a lobster (20 bucks) on them to win so happy watching a rather turgid match.

Odds are’t great however, and to be honest if I knew how many changes would be made to the City line up would have been tempted to go for the draw.

Shows how much I know I guess.
