We might never know what really happened
Melbourne City are owned by the same people as Man City and apparently there is a mega bucks contract on the table waiting to be signed
Methinks that ship has sailed

If the Mariners were a dog they would be put down...but they WERE a well supported club with some good players.....I think Tom Rogic signed with them at some point.
On the bright side..on hearing that Matt Simon....who is a major part of their team....was suspended during the week..I popped into the Club and put a few+bucks on the Phoenix...so it’s been a profitable weekend so far.

Incidentally, the Mariners sacked their coach overnight after that defeat.
Unsurprising, but got to have a bit of sympathy for him....their players are basically sub standard, and no matter who was in charge they would be cellar dwellers.

Ah well, this fitba tipping can be an expensive business as another 20 bucks goes south with the Mariners victory!
Pleased for them though, as they were a vibrant community club who suffered from a change of ownership.
The ‘new manager bounce’ obviously DID have an effect, and hopefully Alan Stajic gets the gig at the end of the season.
You lot probably haven’t seen much about it but Stajic was the coach of Australia’sfavourite team...the Matildas and was sacked without reason a month or so ago.
Football Australia will not say why he was sacked, other than there was a ‘toxic culture’ in the group...but when pressed for examples nobody can support this.
The players were also stunned by it....happened after they and others were asked to complete a ‘survey form’ which was then used as the ammunition for the ‘toxic culture’ statement, and subsequent sacking.
