If it makes you feel better I was supposed to be there supporting Perth and missed it because some hot Sheila wanted to go on a date with my son.

The league operates a salary cap for each club.
So even if you have pots of money and could afford to do it, you can’t simply go out and buy a Ronaldo and Two Messi’s.

They have went from high flyers, to basically your last chance for signing as a full time pro in Oz.
They play at one of the most picturesque grounds in Oz, fire a cannon when they score and have three giant sauce bottles behind one of their goals!
They also have a small band of musicians who wander through the crowd when games are on.

Are you in Aus Billy? You seem to have a keen interest in the A League.
Have watched a few games before and I’ve got to say I’ve always thought the standard is pretty poor. Like a poorer version of the MLS IMO!

Naw Scottish!
The only reason I am pushing it is because I agree the standard is not the greatest but like many others I feel starved of football with the stop start nature of our League and some of the games have been entertaining as the teams tend to cancel each other out.
I have been watching it religiously for the last 5-6 years every Friday which is probably the reason I am Jamie Macs biggest fan

3 gameson tonight (my time) and one with possible interest to Hibees of my vintage.
In the Perth Glory v Adelaide United clash, Look out for former Hibee centre forward Gerry Baker’s grandson, playing at some stage for Adelaide.
He often plays from the start but has been used as a sub in the last couple of outings.
Anyone who has traces of Gerryand Joe Baker’s DNA is well worth a watch....
Ryan plays in the number 4 jersey from memory.

Anyone who thinks that VAR will be a great addition to the SPL check out the two decisions that went against Sydney tonight in their away ganr in Wellington .
Truly and utterly incomprehensible .
The first was a blatant handball by the Nix defender that was reviewed numerous times yet the penalty was not given

I cannot believe what I have just witnessed!
Western Sydney Wanderers cruising 0-2
Lose a late goal 93rd minute 1-2
Fair enough!
The clock is ticking down the ball is going harmlessly out for a goal kick being shepherded out by the WSW goalkeeper with no one near him he decides to take a clumsy touch ...corner
You guessed it 2-2 !!!
Talk about self inflicted grief?

Incomprehensible that a professional football player would do that by accident .
Another VAR error as well with first goal .
It causes more problems than it solves imo

Just what made his mind change its course of action as the ball was about to cross the line!?
It was the most stupidest error I have seen from a goalie in 60 years and absolutely defies any logical explanation!

VAR was not invented for marginal offside decisions according to Alan Shearer but to be fair when played back that flow of play looked offside and everyone in the Stadium thought it was offside an excellent final execution but the goal was allowed to stand
At least they are getting quicker at coming to their decisions but I think we would all agree we would rather have the correct one

VAR has been active in Australia for a few years now imho it has spoiled the flow of the game and ruined a few games but I feel they are getting quicker and slicker and the fans now seem to embrace it it certainly looks as though it is here to stay and looks bound for the Scottish Premiership
I personally would welcome goalline technology and would like Sparkys and Ollys goals reinstated
