Its been poor for ages... but todays BBC 'Scottish Transfer Gossip' is just ridiculously laughable.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/68695786
Not a single article is about a transfer real or imagined.
Rangers Manager has birthday
Ex- OF manager / player etc says... blah blah
Even .Net Transfer Threads have the odd reference to Transfers

It was a round up of the day's football scores and, after showing the top flight, the other leagues flashed up too quickly to be read followed by "which leaves us with more time for this" and a picture of McCoist for several seconds.Mature, sensible signature required for responsible position. Good prospects for the right candidate. Apply within.

I look at it most days - but had never actually noticed it was called *transfer* gossip.

I actually don't mind it too much, it's a half decent way to cut through a lot of the searching for stories, the BBC don't really write any of them it's just collecting them from other places.
That being said it's barely a gossip/transfer news page with the amount of filler or general news.

In fairness, a bit of high-quality "gossip" today. Talk about deep insights worth repeating.. :
"Rangers forward Cyriel Dessers has scored more goals so far this season than Celtic counterpart Kyogo Furuhashi but former Ibrox striker Kris Boyd points out Kyogo has "done it in big games". (Sun)"

I think people still look out of habit but there is so rarely any "transfer" gossip.
Of course, it is simply a reflection of what is in the day's newspapers, which is generally next to nothing worth reading.
I notice that whenever one paper gets a semi-decent tale, all the others simply copy it with "according to a report".
The English / European gossip is obviously has a lot more source material but it often repeats the same stories day after day.
Reckon it's a throwback to newspapers complaining about the BBC having a monopoly on online news / sport and I guess the links will boost paper traffic, although I don't think I've ever clicked on one.

The rangers are signing Eoin Jess story reveal was way funnier, he was actually shouting over people sportsound he was that excited about his exclusive.
Rumor has it earlier Walter Smith said in jest to his clamouring for a bit of info "any news chick aye we're signing Jess now **** off" and he went with it

Whoever writes the column must buy the Courier - they always have a disproportionate amount of Dundee/Dundee Utd/St Johnstone stories in there!
Also, the whole BBC Scottish Football page has seemed really quiet lately. Not sure if they've withdrawn some funding for it or something?

Trying to find Scottish football page on our national broadcasters website is like having to read terms and conditions.
