Was just reading on the official site that the betting booths are to be closed for the whole season. Anyone know why? Perhaps the archetypal Hibby gambler is too savvy and Marathon are taking a nasty hit!!

If they could get some decent WiFi in the ground For free then folk could have an online punt. Marathon bet could do some in play features.

Did they forget to renew their licence?
Seems strange that they would be closed for full season!
Always liked a wee bet at the game.

Open them up to sell Bovril and hot soup in winter, reducing queues at the food outlets

I recall one in West Lower being used to sell scarves and things from the club shop in the late 2000s. Might not be a bad idea there were loads of tourists at the game today albeit in the festival.

Apparently Marathon Bet weren’t making enough money off them. Makes sense as betting is all on an app these days.

I'd imagine the vast majority of punters do their punting online these days.
