Transfer window

After reading posts of people flapping to get signings in before European games and others saying all the better players don't become available until the end of the window it made me think why not Europe wide make the deadline end just before the first European games. Obviously it would need to start earlier and would interfere with major events but that would only involve the big teams, like hearts, signing world cup stars.
I really have no idea of the practicalities of it but figure it's worthy of discussion. It will also give folks another chance to moan and argue with each other.
I am not sure whether every country has transfer Windows. You obviously have teams seasons starting and ending at different times but is it feasible to have the window ending before European matches kick off?
