I know. If the ref had said on field decision was forward it’d have been no try. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Much better side but indiscipline and not doing the basics has cost them.

Wales 20- 19 France. Superb game; Wales showed real grit to come through. France will be kicking themselves, they should have won that match.

What a pulsating game that was! France were the better side and had the game in the palm of their hands. However same old, French story - throwing away a comfortable lead with indiscipline and poor decision making. The red card changed the complexion of that game and Wales score the winning converted try at the end from a French scrum. It may have gone forward but the camera angle the TMO was showing was hard to tell.
Now it’s time for the one I’ve been looking forward to all week and the pick of the ties - Japan vs South AfricaLast edited by hfc rd; 20-10-2019 at 09:22 AM.

i know you said yesterdays game about keeping the scoreboard ticking over but again today i thought it was a terrible decision just before HT when the french took a kick at goal from out wide, which of course was missed,i just can't understand why on earth they didn't go for a lineout, fair enough if the kick is in front of the sticks but over at the touchline just didn't make sense, well on top at the time and wales down to 14, it was a baffling decision and i suspect the french crowd didn't understand that either, maybe if they didn't have so much time to think about the decision they would have done just exactly what i was yelling at them to do straight awayLast edited by cabbageandribs1875; 20-10-2019 at 10:00 AM.

Can’t complain you got the win.
But they were so poor today. Personally, I don't find them particularly pleasing on the eye, I find them more a functional and extremely well disciplined side but today they were shocking and only won that due to France’s poor decision making and indiscipline. Surprisingly their defence was terrible. Not something you normally say about Wales.
Need to step it up big time next week or they will get hammered by the South African’s or even the Japanese If they play at their very best.Last edited by hfc rd; 20-10-2019 at 10:10 AM.

Gatland will have this team ready for next weeks game, having the same amount of rest time as their opponent will also be a positive.
New Zealand v Wales final for me.

I think South Africa will be too much for Wales. They are physically frightening.

Great defending from South Africa in the 1st period which reduced Japan’s flashy play to ineffective play. Despite Japan having all that possession, they didn’t really look like scoring a try. However the second half is about as good as the Springboks get. Nothing flashy but absolute dominance up front. Japan struggled to build any sort of a rhythm in that 2nd half and that resulted in the atmosphere going very flat as Japan had ran out of steam and ideas. A thorough professional job by the Springboks and into quarters against Wales.
Stuck money on a New Zealand vs South Africa final before the tournament began and I reckon that’s what it is gonna be.

I personally thought they’d go for either Gatland or Schmidt.

Reminded me of the picture of Craig Thomson posing with a group of Hearts fans doing the 5-1 hand gestures
