Exceptional end to the match. Great play from Scotland.

I don't get much in the way of football banter here, so I'll definitely be milking this result.

Really enjoyed this 6 nation's. Best we've played for a while, are 2 losses had a score in it, close margins to actually achieving the grand slam. Don't think I've ever seen us run it so close in all the games bar Italy. Yet we still finish 4th 😂

tbf they were both big favourites, i honestly don't know what to spend the £8 profit winnings on :( probably Israel to win against us on sunday, £8+ that is

i can usually depend on the rugby to claw back some losses on the footy

What an effort tonight. Superb. Incredible performance by the forwards. Lineout was secure thanks to Gilchrist coming in for the last two games, he makes a huge difference in there, totally controls it. Ritchie and Watson again magnificent in the back row. Really chuffed with that. Opportunity for a grand slam missed though!

it's good seeing Richie Gray part of the squad again in france, feels like he's been away for several years, maybe get some playing time in the games v Australia, South Africa and another in november, could do with a big strapping 6 ft 10" giant in that line-out

That's been the best 6 Nations tournament I've seen for some time. Well done, Scotland!
Really good tournament - 5 equally matched competitive sides.

Watson, Gilchrist and Cherry when he came on I thought were excellent. What a game and for a change Scotland backed themselves in terms of going for tries. Hastings comes on, prances about a bit then puts in that superb overhead pass for vdM to score, outstanding! Lovin'it!

Harris and Haining were also excellent.

Definitely a few in the mix for the Lions - Sutherland, Fagerson, Gray, Ritchie, Watson, Russell, Van set Merwe in addition to Hogg who’s a certainty.

I would expect Watson to be a certainty along with Russell & Hogg...Hopefully Jamie Ritchie can get in..Van der Merwe might have shot himself in the foot with his missed tackle last night.

Which from what I understand was worthless anyway as they didn`t have the 21 pt winning margin, wouldn`t change their position in table and they already had the win if he just puts into touch.
I know the French are renowned for their attacking flair but throwing away a win regardless is madness surely

Anyone seen the tosh that Matt Williams has been coming out with about his days as Scotland coach? What a tosser he was. Worst coach in Scottish history. A total fake.

Watching the NRL and it struck me how important the player / fan relationship is. Last few weeks post game you see the players taking selfies, signing autographs and generally taking time to make a real effort.

    Contrast that with football...

Didn't get near a Scotland season ticket this year - already have tickets for the 3 Autumn Tests, but was hoping to get a ST to see Scotland v England (a fixture I've never seen in rugby as I can never get tickets!).

Hopefully it'll be played in front of a full Murrayfield.

La Rochelle just beat Leinster 32-23 to set up an All French final v Toulouse at Twickenham on 22nd May

i've saw them a few times and they are a very good side, they would need to be to beat a strong Leinster

Any thoughts on Scottish picks for the Lions this week? Should be more in there than usual with Townsend involved.

I'd say Hogg, Watson and Russell are near certainties to make the squad.

Sutherland (if he can get fit), Z Fagerson, Gray, Price, Harris and van der Merwe seem to be the others with a chance. Maybe three more from those six. That would be six in total which would be the most Scots in an initial Lions squad for a long time.

Hogg and Watson are certainties. Russell should be but I’m starting to worry he’s going to miss out. Agree with the others you’ve listed (not seen Price get much mention in the press, they’re even on about Danny Care now). An additional one could be Redpath.

Eight Scots selected. Townsend's influence in the selection clearly showing there but, being realistic, I have nearly as much chance of starting a test match as three or four of them do.

However the selections will be welcome news for the permanently hard up SRU who will be paid in the region £50,000 for each selected player contracted to one of the Scottish pro teams - so around £250,000 in total.

I expected 4-6 maximum with gatland’s form, was pleasantly surprised to see 8 named

I thought that we had a chance of 7 and all of the ones I would have taken are there. Price is a surprise inclusion for me. The only other surprise is that Gatland did actually pick them.

There's to be 16,500 fans allowed into Murrayfield for the British and Irish Lions game - the game is completely sold out, so around 50k fans are going to be left disappointed with just refunds rather than the opportunity to see the Lions in person in Scotland.

We're out of the tier system by then - why are there still such massive limits then? We're seeing full stadia in other parts of the world - no reason whatsoever this couldn't have been a much bigger crowd.

No U14s allowed into the game either
